About the Role



The IT Project Manager oversees the planning and execution of mid‑sized to large IT initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role partners closely with business and technology stakeholders to manage requirements, resources, risks, and delivery across the full project lifecycle while adhering to established governance, SDLC, and PMLC standards.



Responsibilities



  • Lead end‑to‑end project management activities for complex IT initiatives, including application, integration, and AI‑enabled solutions.
  • Manage day‑to‑day execution across all project phases to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery.
  • Develop, maintain, and govern project documentation, including charters, schedules, budgets, risk logs, and communication plans.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and technical teams to translate business needs into functional and technical deliverables.
  • Secure and coordinate project resources and funding in collaboration with leadership and functional managers.
  • Monitor project performance and provide regular status reporting to sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Communicate project risks, dependencies, issues, and mitigation plans to leadership and executives.
  • Ensure project deliverables comply with governance, audit, and internal control requirements.
  • Identify and manage cross‑project dependencies and resolve conflicts proactively.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, including AI trends, and assess applicability to project delivery.
  • Perform additional project‑related duties as required.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S. degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred but not required.


Required Skills



  • 5+ years of IT project management experience supporting application development and data integration initiatives.
  • Strong working knowledge of project management methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage mid‑sized to large IT projects.
  • Experience within commercial insurance or financial services environments preferred.
  • Proven experience delivering projects using Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies.
  • Hands‑on experience with project and portfolio management tools such as MS Project, Planview, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into actionable technology deliverables.
  • Broad understanding of enterprise IT systems and integration patterns.
