Job Overview
The Project Manager is methodology savvy with experience in large scale project rollouts. The Project Manager is a technically proficient resource, responsible for infrastructure projects with a high degree of focus on retail technologies. The Project Manager's primary mission will be to own and manage the planning, execution and delivery of the project's goal while communicating continually and effectively. The Project Manager is part of a team-oriented, technical organization and is an excellent communicator who can partner with engineering, operations, internal customers, vendors, project/program, and domain management to ensure successful execution of their projects.
What You Will Do
  • Takes ownership of complex projects or multiple projects, overseeing all project related activities and ensuring execution and final delivery of project product.
  • Creates the road map for the project, manages the plan, makes changes as necessary and effectively communicates status and issues to the team, the PMO and Domain management.
  • Manages blockers efficiently and knows when to escalate issues and risks with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Uses existing standards and processes throughout the life cycle of the project.
  • Drives the change management processes.
  • Facilitates planning, communication, negotiation, and self-management within the team.
  • Ensures that project audit controls and closeout activities are completed.
  • On-boards and coaches other project managers in process, issue resolution and audit controls.
  • Actively learning, exploring areas and skills that will help Macys continue to grow and innovate.
  • Conducts post-implementation reviews and communicates lessons learned to appropriate groups.

Skills You Will Need
Technical Expertise: Solid technical background, particularly in retail/network preferred.
Project Management: Ability to manage complex projects or multiple projects, overseeing all related activities and ensuring successful execution and delivery.
Roadmap and Planning: Skilled in creating project roadmaps, managing plans, making adjustments, and effectively communicating status and issues to stakeholders.
Change Management: Drive and manage change management processes.
Facilitation: Excellent facilitation skills for planning, communication, negotiation, and promoting self-management within teams.
Communication Skills: Clear, concise, and continuous communication, with the ability to present to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, able to work across functional lines and at multiple organizational levels.
Creative and Strategic Thinking: Ability to think creatively, strategically, and technically to solve complex problems.
Certifications: PMP or CSM certifications are helpful but not required.
Who You Are
  • Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • 10+ years managing enterprise-level infrastructure projects from initiation through completion, technology and network initiatives. .
  • This role involves performing essential job functions such as communication, collaboration, and use of office and computer systems. Responsibilities include the ability to access and review written and electronic information, and to move within the work environment and interact with workplace materials as needed to carry out job responsibilities.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
