Overview:
Manage all activities of the Facilities Department (Maintenance and Utilities) to support each department at the plant and ensure fulfillment of Company goals
Job Description:
II. Essential Functions
Manage the Facilities Department to support:
Facility Safety
Capacity Assurance
C.Production Growth
Quality Assurance Process equipment (including material handling equipment) and utility maintenance Process and Utility efficiency improvements Refrigeration System operations Continuous Process and Plant improvements Develop and implement methods to improve efficiencies of plant utilities and production processes. Insure all new equipment and utility installations meet USDA requirements and the Plant's strategic plan. Improve process and facility efficiencies and reduce production downtime through a predictive/preventive maintenance system. Develop and administer the capital and expense budget for the plant. Support personal development of all Facilities Department associates. Ensure all maintenance associates are properly trained to meet organization demands Ensure all Facilities associates adhere to company policies and work rules regarding HAACP, SQF, GMP and SOP Ensure best value in purchase of materials and labor for all Facilities related work. Ensure that the Plant meets OSHA, EPA, BOCA, DEQ, Board of Health, and other federal, state, and local agencies' regulatory requirements. Support the Senior Facilities Manager in any assigned projects and accomplishment of Company goals.
III. Education and Experience
Four Year College Degree in Engineering preferred Minimum of 5 years Maintenance or Utility Management experience ASRS experience (where applicable) Strong Project Management Skills Experience with Oracle EAM or other Computerized Maintenance Management Systems required Excellent technical, oral, and written communication skills Kepner-Tregoe or similar problem solving experience desired Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred HAZ-MAT certification desired Process Safety Management training or knowledge of PSM preferred Contractor management experience
IV. Additional Responsibilities
  • Member of Plant Management Team

• Responsible for the attainment of Facilities Department goals
  • Member of Emergency Response Team
  • Develop and maintain cross-training, apprenticeship programs, and equipment seminars
  • Support the Corporate R&D Department
  • Participate in all facility, equipment, and utility matters
  • Daily communications with direct reports
  • Daily communications with Production Department
  • Communications with all Plant departments, as necessary
  • Participate in Facility audits at all Boar's Head Production Plants
  • Maintain Facility Department staff through recruitment and job appraisals
  • Review and approve all pay increases for Facilities, Utilities, and Maintenance Personnel
