We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support construction projects by coordinating submittals, reviewing technical documentation, managing project records, and ensuring contract compliance. This role is ideal for a construction professional who enjoys working closely with project managers, architects, suppliers, and customers to help deliver successful projects from start to finish.


Position Summary

The Project Engineer is responsible for preparing and coordinating project submittals, reviewing drawings and specifications, managing RFIs, developing project schedules, and supporting procurement and closeout activities. This position plays a critical role in ensuring projects remain compliant, accurate, and on schedules.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and coordinate project submittals and approval packages.
  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Create and manage RFIs to clarify project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain hardware, furniture, accessory, and glass schedules.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, suppliers, subcontractors, and customers.
  • Review supplier drawings and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Generate bills of materials and assist with procurement activities.
  • Support change order documentation and project reporting.
  • Maintain project records, closeout documentation, warranties, and O&M manuals.
  • Ensure timely communication of project issues, risks, and status updates.
  • Assist with engineering drawings and special project requirements.


Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Construction Project Engineering experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Experience preparing submittals and coordinating project documentation.

Preferred

  • Associate degree in Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of Construction Project Engineering experience.
  • AutoCAD or similar drafting software experience.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and construction materials.
  • Experience working with specialty construction products and equipment.
