Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA has an open position and is looking for qualified candidates for an Project Manager. The job location is at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, Oklahoma.


Scope of Performance: We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to lead and coordinate projects from initiation through completion. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, scheduling, resource management, budget oversight, risk mitigation, and customer communication while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.


The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience managing complex projects, and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project for developing and maintaining project schedules. This position supports government and commercial customers and requires exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, monitor, and close projects while meeting cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Coordinate project activities across multiple departments and functional teams.
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, budgets, and resource utilization.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project performance and prepare status reports for management and customers.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate project progress to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage project documentation, schedules, action items, and change requests.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, company policies, and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate subcontractor and vendor activities when applicable.
  • Resolve project issues and remove obstacles that may impact project success.
  • Assist with proposal development, project planning, and transition activities for new contract awards.
  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives.

Education and Experience – Required:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Three or more years of project management experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project for project scheduling and resource planning.
  • Strong knowledge of project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management principles.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
