Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Fulltime Traveling Project Manager - Heavy Civil Constuction in Ardmore, OK. The Traveling Project Manager for Heavy Civil Construction leads mid- to large-scale projects ranging from $5M to $75M across the Southern Central United States. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with 5-8 years of experience in heavy civil design-build projects, capable of overseeing complex infrastructure, dam, and water resource works from conceptual development through final commissioning.

Job Type: Permanent

Annual Salary: $130,000 to $160,000 Annually BOE

Licenses/Certifications Required:

  • Security Clearance (obtained via background check results)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of heavy civil construction projects including hard bid, CM, and Design-Build delivery methods.
  • Develop and maintain logical project schedules, work plans, and budget estimates to ensure deadlines and financial goals are met.
  • Coordinate with design engineers to provide constructability reviews and project estimates at various design phases.
  • Negotiate and prepare contracts, change orders, and revisions with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Implement and enforce corporate safety policies and monitor compliance with building and safety codes on all assigned job sites.
  • Direct and supervise labor requirements, including dispatching workers and providing mentorship to junior project staff.
  • Act as the primary liaison between owners, design professionals, and field personnel to resolve work procedures and construction problems.
  • Oversee the procurement of supplies and materials and manage quality control programs for diverse structures and systems.
  • Manage project closeout documentation, substantial completion processes, and warranty period tracking.
  • Prepare owner payment applications and maintain all professional correspondence with outside entities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or at least 5 years of comparable industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience specifically managing heavy civil design-build projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction sequencing, procurement, and implementation within the dams, energy, or water infrastructure markets.
  • Ability to travel extensively to project sites throughout the Southern Central states, with an initial assignment in Ardmore, OK.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen to obtain required security clearances.
  • Proven experience managing multi-faceted projects with moderate to high risk levels and minimal oversight.
  • Strong technical skills in reading and interpreting complex plans, specifications, and contract terms.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl on active construction sites.
  • Must be comfortable working at elevated heights and in various outdoor environments including inclement weather.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Capability to manage high-stress environments and respond effectively to site emergencies.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
