Job description

The anticipated closing date of this job post is 5/25/2026.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the schedules availability of manufactured and purchased items
and assemblies related to an assigned project. Creates detailed production schedules and shop orders for
assigned projects. Identifies and tracks the resolution of shortages, monitors completeness of assemblies
and coordinates their release. Responsible for reviewing and acting on order release, action
and exception messages from the ERP system. Monitors returns to stock, additional unplanned stock issues
and project-related documents for accuracy and initiates ECR’s as appropriate. May coordinates and direct
activities of assigned Expeditor(s).

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following:
• Creates the production schedule for an assigned project with detailed input from Production Management.
• Utilizes assembly sequence and assembly due date requirements as determined by Production Management .
• Creates a project production schedule by DOP/project and by assembly, creates shop order and issues
order with assembly/production dates as soon as possible after engineering release.
• Processes any schedule changes and immediately updates shop orders as necessary .
• Participates in the creation of Shipping Directory for assigned projects.
• Works with Expeditor to close out shop orders during assembly and with Accounting on final order close-out.
• Monitors part availability by assembly in IFS, in conjunction with Expeditor.
• Identifies actual or potential shortages and coordinates required delivery dates with Purchasing
and/or machining in conjunction with Expeditor.
• Monitors incoming shortages and advises the Expediter to coordinate their processing through
Receiving to the staging area or the production area.
• Identifies assemblies ready to be staged for production in IFS.
• Coordinates with Production Management on assembly staging schedule to support the build schedule
and production capacity 1-3 days out.
• Instructs the Expeditor when to move assemblies from staging to the production area.
• In conjunction with an Expeditor, provides a list of shortages with expected delivery dates on
any assembly that is released and staged for production with unfulfilled shortages with the
assembly and to the Production Manager.
• Responsible for processing all spares orders relating to their assigned productlines and
coordination with the assigned Production Supervisor to meet required shipment dates.
• Reviews all components returned to stock along with causal information provided by the Expediter and
initiating any ECR’s that are found to be appropriate.
• Reviews any additional stock issues to a project and initiates ECR’s when appropriate.

Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.


Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience:
4 year degree or 2 year degree/certificate with an acceptable amount of additional direct
production planning experience/training in a manufacturing environment
Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, engineering specifications, bills of
material and engineering change orders.
Must have excellent computer skills including MRP/ERP system and Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; Oracle system experience a plus.

This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
Work schedule generally consists of 40 hours per week, which may include on-call status, evenings, and/or weekends.
