Specializing in Commercial, Multifamily, Industrial, Retail, Hospitality, Senior Living, and Healthcare construction, they are known for building long-term relationships, maintaining a strong reputation for quality, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
They are currently seeking a Project Engineer with healthcare construction experience to support complex healthcare and medical facility projects throughout California. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working on projects governed by HCAI/OSHPD requirements and a strong understanding of healthcare construction processes, documentation, and compliance standards.
Position Summary
The Project Engineer will support the Project Manager and Superintendent in the successful execution of healthcare construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for project documentation, subcontractor coordination, RFIs, submittals, scheduling support, and maintaining compliance with HCAI/OSHPD standards and healthcare facility regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project operations and coordination
  • Manage and track RFIs, submittals, ASIs, change orders, and project documentation
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, inspectors, subcontractors, and owners
  • Support HCAI/OSHPD compliance processes, inspections, and documentation requirements
  • Maintain accurate project logs and ensure timely distribution of project communications
  • Assist with project scheduling, procurement, and material tracking
  • Review construction drawings and specifications for completeness and constructability
  • Help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain meeting minutes/action items
  • Support project closeout including punch lists, warranties, O&M manuals, and turnover documentation
  • Promote a collaborative and professional working environment across project teams

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction project engineering or project coordination
  • Healthcare construction experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working on HCAI/OSHPD-regulated projects required
  • Knowledge of California healthcare construction standards, procedures, and inspections
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, and project workflows
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar construction software
