Job description

Position Summary

This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the installation and startup of a large volume of Caterpillar generator packages. This role will supervise skilled MMC field technicians, and work closely with project management peers, third-party packagers, site contractors, and our customers by leading onsite resources, addressing technical inquiries and ensuring the seamless application of the Caterpillar and ancillary equipment.

Position Duties/Responsibilities
  • Plans, manages and coordinates all aspects of new project commissioning from initial delivery of equipment on the customer jobsite to customer acceptance while ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Quality Assurance: Confirms that all delivered equipment meets site requirements and responds proactively to requests for additional information or changes.
  • Logistics Coordination: Oversees the arrival, offloading, and installation of equipment, supporting technicians and contractors to guarantee correct installation and adherence to customer timelines.
  • Financial Management: Manages and monitors the project schedules to maximize profitability while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaboration: Works with vendors to resolve technical inquiries and build strong relationships with suppliers to enhance project outcomes.
  • Adaptability: Performs additional related duties as needed to support team success.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Ensures compliance with established corporate standards. Oversees day to day operations of the unit. Reviews and evaluates the work and performance of reporting employees.  Has significant input regarding hiring and disciplining employee
Position Requirements

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 10+ years’ experience installing and commissioning power?generation equipment, or equivalent background in project management, purchasing, or customer service ideally in the electric?power sector and with Caterpillar products.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • Advanced computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office software, as Word and Excel, AutoCad, data base systems and the ability to operate CAT PC and Main Frame Programs.
  • Thorough understanding of the installation and application of electrical and mechanical products.
  • Requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple competing tasks and demands.

Preferred:

  • Direct knowledge of Caterpillar generator set products.
  • Experience with CxAlloy or other similar commissioning software platforms.
