Job Summary

The Project Manager II is responsible for managing projects within Pipeline, Process, and Industrial Services Division. This position is responsible for planning all aspects of the job such as equipment, personnel, costs, resource allocation while adhering to QHSE standards. The Project Manager II guides and instructs field personnel by clearly communicating to the assigned Lead or Supervisor to properly execute the job as planned. Works directly with the President, District Manager, and Estimators in order to provide the most profitable and economical solutions to the client's needs. The Project Manager II is a valued position who is responsible for delivering a successfully executed project and positive experience to our clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities   

  • Lead project planning and implementation for larger and more complex projects compared to Level I
  • Monitor project progress against both the schedule and budget, adjusting as necessary to ensure project success
  • Mentor and guide Level I Project Managers and other junior staff
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies to handle potential project challenges
  • Ensure compliance with more stringent QHSE standards and manage higher-risk projects
  • Facilitate more complex stakeholder meetings and negotiations
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and techniques
  • Manage & oversee projects from start to finish, following the approved budget
  • Understand and manage QHSE risks throughout the project, ensuring BlueFin processes and systems meet or exceed client requirements
  • Have a clear understanding of project deliverables and client expectations
  • Perform on-site Project Management duties as requested
  • Serve as technical point of contact for various projects as requested
  • Assist the Estimator in bidding jobs
  • Keep track of daily costs and ensure proper documentation is completed
  • Clearly communicate project directions to the assigned job Lead or Supervisor
  • Utilize Purchase Order (PO) process for all job-related purchases
  • Perform Site Visits as required
  • Organize, administer and attend pre-bid, pre-job, post-job, and project meetings internally and with clients
  • Write Project Work Plans (PWP), Project Completion Reports (PCR), and other project related technical documentation
  • Ability to develop, communicate and maintain client relationships at all levels
  • Assist with developing training criteria for field employees as well as provide continuous feedback on job performance during and after projects
  • Report, document and communicate all elements of Quality and Safety as relevant and within the scope of your assignments
  • Verifies the time for personnel allocated to respective projects
  • Update resource management data in various software’s as required
  • Understand and adhere to all applicable regulatory standards
  • Ensure compliance with all BlueFin policies and procedures

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Education – Degree preferred
  • 10 years’ experience within the energy industry or relevant sector
  • 5 years of relevant position experience

Physical Requirements

  • Some travel may be required
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and / or physical
