Job Description

Position Overview

As a Manager on Invenergy's Project Analytics team, you will lead the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and analytics that support data-driven decision-making within Invenergy's Construction business. In this role, you will manage a small team of analytics professionals and utilize DAX and Power Query (M Code) to create Power BI dashboards that translate complex Project Controls data into insights for executives. You will establish reporting standards and collaborate with the Construction, Project Controls, and Data Engineering teams to ensure that the data is accurate, consistent, and actionable. This position requires a hands-on builder who will also mentor others and promote the use of analytics tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of construction analytics professionals through coaching, feedback, and career development.

  • Own the team's intake and delivery process: prioritize work, assign resources, manage timelines, and ensure high-quality, on-time delivery.

  • Support the planning, coordination, and evaluation of construction financial and performance reporting under the direction of Construction leadership and Project Controls.

  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to visualize project health and key performance indicators (KPIs) across cost, schedule, productivity, and risk.

  • Establish and execute data QA/QC checks and reporting standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and repeatability of portfolio reporting.

  • Communicate project status, cost performance, and schedule updates through dashboards, narratives, and stakeholder presentations to support decision-making.

  • Maintain detailed reporting for project workstreams and provide roll-up reporting that summarizes performance at the project and portfolio levels.

  • Document processes and maintain development standards that support data governance and knowledge sharing.

  • Incorporate user feedback to continuously improve report functionality and usability.

  • Present dashboards, training, or demos to promote adoption of analytics tools.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field is preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience in cost management, project controls, construction analytics, or advisory roles supporting large capital projects.

  • 2+ years of people management experience (direct reports) and/or demonstrated experience leading and developing others in a team environment.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power BI is required (data modeling, DAX, and Power Query/M).

  • Familiarity with data engineering concepts (ETL/ELT, dataflows, semantic layer design) and working with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure/Fabric/Snowflake).

  • Exposure to data governance, version control, or metadata management.

  • Strong Excel skills for data manipulation, validation, and analysis.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to translate between technical and business audiences and influence standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new tools and apply automation to improve processes.

  • Eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to write and troubleshoot SQL queries (or equivalent data querying) to validate sources, reconcile totals, and support analytics development.

  • Ability to use automation and scripting tools (Power Automate, Python, VBA) to streamline recurring reporting and QA/QC checks.

  • Experience with scheduling software such as Primavera P6.

  • Experience with cost management systems such as EcoSys and/or Oracle Fusion (or similar ERP/cost tools).

  • Candidates with advanced degrees or professional certifications/accreditations in Data, Cost Management, Schedule, Construction Management, or related fields are preferred.
