Job description

Martin Concrete Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and drivenAssistant Project Manager - Mission Criticalto support concrete construction projects for data centers, power facilities, waste/water treatment plants, and other high-reliability environments. This role is perfect for a construction professional eager to grow their career by contributing to complex, fast-paced, and schedule-driven projects while working alongside experienced teams.


This position is based in the Kennesaw office; however,based on contractual and project requirements, the role may require full-time assignment at a project job site and will involve travel as needed.


What You'll Do

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll support the successful execution of mission-critical concrete projects. Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams, you'll help ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and with the highest quality standards.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating project planning, scheduling, and logistics with the Project Executive and operations team
  • Support project execution onsite, coordinating with field teams, clients, and leadership
  • Managing document control, including submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and contract documents
  • Tracking field progress daily using Bluebeam and maintaining logs for weather, production, and materials
  • Expediting materials and communicating with vendors to ensure timely deliveries
  • Reviewing invoices, verifying pay applications, and ensuring accurate cost coding
  • Leading weekly jobsite meetings and documenting minutes to keep stakeholders aligned
  • Supporting punch-list management and driving successful project close-outs


What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field
  • 3+ years of experienceas an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer on large concrete projects
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications with a specific focus on concrete scopes of work
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced construction environment
  • Superior communication and organizational skills to keep teams aligned and projects moving forward
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, clients, and field staff
  • Proficiency with construction software, including Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Plan Grid, Procore, and Microsoft Project
  • Comfortable working primarily onsite in an active construction environment


Preferred Experience

  • OSHA Certification
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Tekla
