Job description

Director of Project Management (Confidential Search)

Our client is an established international manufacturer of highly engineered industrial equipment serving customers across North America. The company designs and delivers complex, custom-engineered capital projects for industrial, infrastructure, and manufacturing clients. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Director of Project Management to lead their project execution organization.

About the Opportunity

This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the successful execution of complex engineered-to-order projects from contract award through commissioning and final closeout. The Director of Project Management will lead a team of Project Managers while partnering closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and at expected margins.

This role is ideal for a leader who enjoys improving processes, developing teams, and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of Project Managers responsible for large capital equipment projects.
  • Drive consistent project execution across scope, schedule, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as the executive escalation point for major customer and project issues.
  • Partner with Finance to manage project profitability, cash flow, forecasting, and change orders.
  • Improve project management processes, reporting, governance, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Field Services, and Sales throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, communication, continuous improvement, and execution excellence.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience managing engineered-to-order, industrial manufacturing, or capital equipment projects.
  • Proven success leading and developing project management teams.
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration, risk management, project controls, and change order management.
  • Experience working in complex manufacturing or heavy industrial environments.
  • Excellent executive communication and customer relationship skills.
Why This Opportunity?

This is a chance to join a financially strong organization that is investing in growth, operational excellence, and leadership development. The successful candidate will become a key member of the leadership team and have significant influence over project execution, customer satisfaction, and organizational performance.

If you’re an experienced project management leader who thrives in complex manufacturing environments and enjoys building high-performing teams, I’d welcome a confidential conversation.

To learn more, send me a direct message or apply through LinkedIn. All inquiries will be handled with complete confidentiality.
