The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is seeking a Project Management Specialist to support our nationally recognized program in patient care, research, and education.
Job Summary
This Project Management Specialist will provide project management support for large, multicenter hepatology studies. This includes a major initiative led by Dr. Chalasani, where Indiana University (IU) serves as the Data Coordinating Center and Contract Research Organization (CRO) for multiple sites, as well as the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA)-funded Integrated Therapies for Alcohol Use in Alcohol-Associated Liver Disease (ITAALD) clinical trial.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Coordinates complex research initiatives
- Manages timelines and budgets
- Supports multi-site operations
- Contributes to strategic growth efforts, including future R01 submissions and industry-sponsored projects.
- Coordinates events
- Enhances program visibility through publications and media
- Partners with leadership to ensure successful execution of key objectives
General Responsibilities
- Manages a small project, from start to finish, or one phase of a large project, ensuring on time completion within budget
- Develops project plan(s) and efficiently analyzes, tracks, forecasts, and reports on project metrics and shortfalls
- Reports on progress and provides regular updates to upper management
- Coordinates and communicates between various areas; conducts project meetings and prepares regular reports
- Collaborates with other departments to ensure that project objectives are achieved within established time frames
- May provide guidance and support to non-exempt staff

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. Advertised Salary
$50,000.00 - 55,000.00 per year based on experience and internal equity within the division
