  • Serves as a professional advisor providing analysis and assessment of enterprise-wide DFAS Initiatives, projects, programs, or portfolios with strategic, enterprise, or tactical impacts relative to the agency strategy.
  • Adheres to the established DFAS Project Management Standards, including guides, templates and checklists, and tools. Prepares, updates, and provides training on the DFAS Project Management Principles, as needed.
  • Identifies actual or potential risk areas or issues areas with current projects within the Agency. Prepares senior executive level briefings, and briefs senior executives. Prepares senior executive level briefings, and briefs senior executives.
  • Provides expert development and execution of project management plans, including project charters, risk management plans, communication plans, and change management plans.
  • Leads teams of various disciplines in strategy related project management discussions or planning sessions (scope, objective setting, etc.), business case analysis support, and any ad hoc support requirements for DFAS.
  • Provides expert development and execution of work breakdown structures and project schedules using MSMS Office 365, including MS Project Professional.

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12 for GS-13) within the federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility if outside the Federal service which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience Is Defined As:
  • Experience managing the complete lifecycle of large, complex projects from initiation through implementation to closure, using project management principles, methods and tools to accomplish project objectives and recommending solutions based on identified risks and value to the organization.

Examples Of Specialized Experience Includes:
  • Providing Project Management consulting support, and working independently and with a team of individuals on developing and implementing project management plans, including project charters, communication plans, risk management plans, change management plans, staffing management plans , work breakdown structures, and project schedules.
