Job description

Midland Care Connection

Midland Care Connection is a not-for-profit, community-based organization dedicated to helping older adults and seriously ill individuals stay independent and supported in their homes. Established in 1978, we offer a full continuum of care, including hospice, palliative care, home health, grief and loss counseling, and our signature PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program. Our mission centers on "meeting individual needs through innovative care solutions," and we serve people across multiple counties in northeast Kansas.

PACE Program

Designed to help older adults remain safely in their homes rather than entering nursing facilities. It provides complete medical care, rehabilitation, medications, transportation, social services, and supportive therapies—all coordinated by an interdisciplinary care team. Participants receive personalized care plans tailored to their unique needs, along with access to a PACE center for social activities, meals, and clinical services. By integrating medical and supportive care under one program, PACE helps seniors maintain independence, improve quality of life, and continue living in their communities with dignity.

PACE Administrative Intern

The PACE Administrative Intern provides administrative and operational support while gaining hands-on experience in one of the nation's most innovative healthcare delivery models. Working alongside leadership and interdisciplinary teams, interns gain exposure to healthcare operations, quality improvement, participant care coordination, regulatory compliance, and organizational management.

Responsibilities may include organizing participant records, coordinating meetings, assisting with data collection and reporting, maintaining accurate documentation, supporting operational projects, and facilitating communication among clinical and administrative departments. Interns will also have opportunities to observe interdisciplinary team meetings, learn about participant-centered care planning, and contribute to projects that improve organizational performance and participant outcomes.

PACE Administration Interns are introduced to healthcare compliance, quality assurance, and continuous process improvement initiatives. They may assist with tracking regulatory requirements, reviewing documentation for accuracy, supporting audit readiness, analyzing operational data, and participating in quality improvement activities. Throughout the internship, students develop professional skills in healthcare administration, leadership, communication, project coordination, and problem-solving while gaining valuable insight into the PACE model and integrated care delivery.
