Job description

ABOUT THE JOB

The Junior Art Director supports the Creative Director in translating brand vision into polished, production-ready creative across campaigns, digital, packaging, social, and brand collateral. This role operates at the intersection of creative direction and hands-on execution, taking concepts from brief to delivery with precision and a strong sense of craft.

This position reports directly to the Creative Director

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the Creative Director to develop and execute creative across campaigns, digital, packaging, social, advertising, and brand collateral
  • Own graphic execution of projects from brief to delivery, including hands-on design work and direction of freelance graphic designers to ensure work is on-brand, on-time, and held to a high standard of craft
  • Assist in art direction for photo and video shoots within established creative frameworks, both on set and in pre-production
  • Make photo selects and provide clear, detail-oriented retouching notes
  • Support packaging development from concept through production-ready files, including dielines, print specs, and vendor coordination
  • Build and maintain templates, visual systems, and production files that support brand consistency at scale
  • Present creative decisions clearly to internal teams and cross-functional partners
  • Maintain organized asset handoff processes, ensuring files are properly named, easy to locate, and delivered clean
  • Stay current on the broader visual landscape and bring relevant references to elevate the work
  • Other related duties as required.


EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • 3-5 years of experience in a design or art direction role, ideally in-house at a consumer brand or lifestyle agency
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong graphic craft and the ability to execute within a defined creative vision
  • Packaging experience required, including understanding of the full production process from structural considerations to print finish
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; Figma and Miro fluency a strong plus
  • Experience art directing photo and video shoots with the ability to communicate direction clearly on set
  • Strong typography, layout, and composition skills with sharp attention to detail
  • Collaborative, reliable, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines without compromising quality
  • Motion or video editing experience a plus (After Effects, Premiere)


Compensation

This position's annual base salary range is $80,000–$90,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
