Job description

Job Description
Responsible for assisting skilled trades and performing apprentice craft work for construction, maintenance, and repair of facilities systems, buildings and equipment. To include, but not limited to, assisting with installing and repairing wiring, fixtures, and equipment, measure, cut, bend and install conduit, assisting with wire pulls, etc. Work is performed under the direct supervision of a licensed electrician. Troubleshoots electrical issues using testing equipment. Tests electrical equipment for safety and efficiency. Reviews and maintains compliance with safety requirements, material handling and organization. Maintains a clean and safe work and storage area. Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma. 0 years of experience. Must complete 2,000 hours of on the job training each year of apprenticeship. Must enroll and attend the apprenticeship school and maintain a minimum passing grade of 70. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Skills and Abilities
Basic knowledge of electrical systems and tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Basic writing and reading skills. Basic mathematics skills. Ability to read blueprints and schematics. Must use all power tools, saws, drills, threaders, wire taggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches. Operates two (2) handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jack hammers.
Background Check and Drug Testing Information
CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as "CDM Smith") reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions.
