Job description

About Project Healthy Minds
Project Healthy Minds is a mental health nonprofit that runs like a tech startup. We are pioneering a first-of-its-kind model: applying technology to address one of the biggest social issues of our time: the growing mental health crisis. We believe in a simple but profound idea: that it should be as easy to find mental health services as it is to book a flight or a restaurant reservation. That's why we're building the world's first digital marketplace for finding mental health services that are right for you.
To do that, we work with some of the most inspiring and influential leaders in America - business titans, tech entrepreneurs, clinicians and scientists, musicians, artists, athletes, media stars, policymakers, and more - because we believe that the world's most complex challenges require interdisciplinary teams and solutions.
We are backed by a powerhouse of industry-leading Board of Directors and Advisory Council Members who are passionate, hands-on, and dive into the important work with us.

About The Role
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The Product Engineer, User Journey owns the frontend experience and analytics implementation at PHM-shipping features that improve how users find and connect with mental health services, and measuring what actually works. This role combines hands-on engineering with a product-minded approach to understanding user behavior. This is a full-time, in-office position.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Own and evolve the frontend user experience across the PHM marketplace
Implement and maintain analytics instrumentation using Segment and GTM
Ship features end-to-end: from understanding the problem, to building the solution, to measuring impact
Partner with Product and Design to translate user insights into technical solutions
Use AI tools (e.g. Claude Code) to accelerate development and iteration
Identify opportunities for improvement based on user testing and passive analytics data
Contribute to the "logged in" experience as we expand authenticated features
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Production experience with TypeScript and Next.js
Familiarity with NestJS or similar Node.js backend frameworks
Fullstack capability with a frontend focus-you're comfortable across the stack but you care about what users see, experience, and feel
Experience with analytics tooling (Segment, Posthog, GTM)
Demonstrated adoption of AI-assisted development (Claude Code,, Cursor, etc.)
A product mindset: you ask "why are we building this?" before diving in
Desire to grow into a more strategic role with the right mentorship
A belief in our mission: connecting millions of Americans to mental health services that actually work for them
WHY THIS IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY
A world-class Board, Clinical Advisory Committee, supporters, and collaborators. We've assembled a truly best-in-class network across business, academia, and media.
A big, bold vision with backing. Multi-year track record of strong YoY growth, funded by philanthropy and earned revenue.
Startup mindset, social mission ethos. You'll work with a team from venture-backed startups, market-leading enterprises, and everything in between-united by the chance to drive massive positive impact.
Own the user experience end-to-end. You won't just write code-you'll shape what users see, measure whether it works, and grow into driving what gets built next.
What We Offer
Competitive compensation
Competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits
Paid holidays and generous PTO
Life insurance
Short-term and long-term disability
Spring Health mental healthcare
Commuter benefits
Perks at Work
Experience joining a dynamic start-up environment that is re-writing the playbook for social change in the mental health tech space
Benefits of joining a close-knit, highly-motivated team with mentorship opportunities from a world-class network of founding leaders, Advisors, and Board members
Learning & Development opportunities, including free MasterClass subscriptions
Opportunity to attend inspiring experiences and events with thought leaders, business executives, and iconic speakers across a range of industries
And more (just ask!)
The annual salary for this role is $155,000-$195,000, commensurate with experience and fit.
