Agropur is looking for a project engineer for its Beauceville plant.

Reporting to the Regional engineering manager, the Project Engineer is responsible for the development, execution and monitoring of major investment projects. He develops and optimizes manufacturing processes in order to improve operational performance or add value to the organisation. The scope of projects can reach several million dollars. The Project Engineer will be primarily based at the Beauceville plant but may also be required to carry out projects at other plants in the region.

  • Salary scale 006: $100,900 to $126,100 (Base salary will be determined based on your academic background, experience, training, and jobrelated competencies.)

Your role in achieving results:

  • Develops, analyzes and evaluates various investment requests. The expertise provided must take into account health and safety, quality, technical aspects, operational challenges, human resources and financial impact.
  • Performs technical and financial monitoring of the projects entrusted. He prepares technical specifications, plans and cost estimates. He manages tenders and issuance of contracts, together with the strategic purchasing department. He coordinates the installation and commissioning of equipment, and manages the project budget.
  • Coordinates the work of multidisciplinary teams associated with the realization of major projects. The team can be made of internal and external resources.
  • Acts as a technical advisor to other members of the engineering team or plants.
  • Is responsible for capital projects at the Beauceville plant in Quebec, but may be called upon to support other locations depending on workloads and business needs.

What we are looking for to deliver these results:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, industrial or automation.
  • Member of Ordre des Ingenieurs du Quebec.
  • 7-10 years of experience in engineering and carrying out projects.
  • Expertise in the design and installation of processes in the food and beverage sector is sought. Expertise in the dairy sector would be an asset.
  • Proven track record of implementing multidisciplinary capital projects in a multi stakeholder environment.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English(English is required to collaborate with colleagues in other Canadian provinces.)
