This role offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse site development projects, including healthcare, multifamily, commercial, industrial, educational facilities, and more.

You'll work under the guidance of a Senior Engineer, managing and designing projects from concept through construction. The Team
Our Civil Engineering teams focus on site and infrastructure design, including leading projects such as the 16th Street Mall redesign in Denver.
Responsibilities
  • Assists in conceptual design.
  • Assists in fee determination and proposal preparation.
  • Fills out Project Setup Forms and reviews/fills out work authorizations.
  • Establishes a QA/QC plan for each project.
  • Acts as a mentor for younger engineers and assists with their career development.
  • Attends project meetings and represents Martin/Martin, Inc. during design and construction.
  • Follows up on collection of account receivables.

Requirements
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Kansas or ability to obtain one within 3 months.
  • 5-8 years of progressive civil engineering experience
  • Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to work in the Kansas City area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function.

Desired
  • Min 4 years' experience in site development, land development, or infrastructure.
  • Min 1 years' experience with Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Knowledge of or proficiency with Civil3D, StormCAD, FlowMaster, WaterCAD, AutoTurn.
  • Shows strong interest in participating in company initiatives
  • Construction field experience
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

This position is primarily technical in nature and requires working inside and outside the office to complete a wide range of activities. The following abilities are required:
  • Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites
  • Remain stationary for long periods of time
  • Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse
  • Carry, ascend, and descend a ladder
  • Identify color
  • Read, communicate, and document in English
  • Determine and exchange accurate information
  • Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

Compensation
The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
  • Base Salary: This is a salaried position with accrued time eligibility.
  • Accrued Time: Accrued time allows additional compensation or time-off to be earned for any eligible hours worked exceeding 40 hours per week.
  • Base Salary Review: This role is eligible to participate in Martin/Martin's annual base salary increase review process.
  • Annual Bonus: This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary annual bonus program.

Base salary review and increases, in addition to annual bonuses, are dependent on various factors, including a hired individual's job-level and annual company performance.
