Job description

Senior Project Development Manager

Reporting to the Director of Asset Optimization, the successful candidate will be accountable for planning and coordinating, upgrades and major purchases of equipment supporting operational assets. The Senior Project Development Manager will oversee the project development process from conceptualization through contract securement and report on progress of the project to the management team on a regular basis. While the project is under construction the Senior Project Development Manager will monitor compliance with the 80/20 rule, review PWA compliance test results, and report any project risks to the Director of Asset Optimization

This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, firm understanding of operational strategies, and knowledge of compliance requirements as it relates to Federal tax credits and State REC programs

Responsibilities

  • Contract for and manage; specification development, equipment procurement, PWA compliance support; valuations support, domestic content support, and project labor where applicable.
  • Manage work scopes to fit within Federal and State programs as well as support the needs of the business
  • Analyze designs, specifications, plans, estimates and reports involved in capital and major maintenance projects.
  • Periodically audit construction activities to ensure design, specifications, and contracts are followed and that work is done according to schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Compliance teams on project identification, development, and implementation.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports and monitor spend to meet company objectives.
  • Recommend corrective courses of action to management as issues arise.
  • Conduct Safe Work and Environmental Observations on medium and high-risk work.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for asset-related inquiries from certain internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor compliance with 80/20 rule

  • Monitor PWA compliance reporting
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of hydroelectric power generation technologies and assets.
  • Sound experience in the design, delivery and management of construction and maintenance projects along with technical awareness across all disciplines.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering specifications, blueprints and drawings and related technical procedures, and effectively communicate findings orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with cross functional teams.
  • Consistently demonstrate good judgment, strong character, ethics, and high standards of performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in an engineering discipline combined with a minimum of 5-years of successful management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction and maintenance project safety and environmental rules and regulations.
  • Proven experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in the renewable energy sector.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed to various project sites and stakeholder meetings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Word, Excel and Project.

Pay Range: $130k-160k/yr. with specified bonus
