Job description

The Corporate Venture Capital arm of a major Japanese automotive manufacturer is hiring a Project Coordinator, supporting startup engagement, deal-flow research, and event/vendor logistics across the U.S. and Japan.


We are open to candidates with backgrounds in project coordination, business operations, contract or vendor coordination, or event coordination. Japanese fluency is required for this role at this time.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Legal & Vendor Contracts: Serve as the go-between for startups and the firm's legal team on NDAs, diligence letters, MSAs, SOWs, and event agreements; manage vendor contracts with accelerators, deal-flow partners, and tool providers.
  • Drive Event & Logistics Planning: Plan and execute external events, sponsorships, and internal workshops, handling venue booking, vendor coordination, and payment processing.
  • Support Deal-Flow Research: Conduct weekly startup research to surface new opportunities, and maintain the accuracy of deal-flow data in Salesforce.
  • Own Cross-Functional Projects: Take ownership of assigned projects and process improvements, working independently after initial training and escalating blockers as needed.
  • Bridge Global Communication: Support communication between U.S. and Japan-based teams, helping close cultural and linguistic gaps in a matrixed, cross-border environment.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years in project coordination, business operations, contract/vendor coordination, or event coordination
  • Venture Capital and/or Start-Up experience desired but not required
  • Fluency in Japanese required
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities across global, cross-functional stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce/PitchBook/Crunchbase experience a plus
