Project Controls Specialist - Lebanon, IN


The Project Controls Specialist supports project controls activities for industrial construction projects at the job site.. This position is responsible for analyzing cost, schedule, manpower, and project performance data to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities and provide accurate information to project leadership. Working closely with Project Managers, Operations, Accounting, Procurement, and field leadership, this role supports forecasting, cost reporting, change management, labor reporting, schedule updates, and project performance measurement. The Project Controls Specialist helps ensure project budgets, schedules, commitments, and execution plans remain aligned throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in the fast-paced industrial construction environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Update and maintain project schedules, cost performance information, forecasting data, and project controls reports to support accurate measurement of project performance.
  • Prepare and distribute cost reports, change order documentation, manpower reports, forecasting updates, and other project performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review project cost, schedule, and manpower data to identify variances from established budgets, control accounts, baselines, and execution plans and communicate findings to project leadership.
  • Support the administration and continuous improvement of project change management processes, ensuring scope changes, change orders, and related impacts are properly documented and tracked.
  • Analyze committed and actual cost and ensure costs are accurately assigned to appropriate budget and cost codes in accordance with project controls standards.
  • Track, compile, validate, and report labor hours and manpower data for craft personnel, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
  • Support the development and maintenance of resource-loaded schedules in Primavera P6 and other scheduling or project controls systems as required.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Accounting, Procurement, Operations, and field leadership to support accurate forecasting, cost management, schedule performance, and project reporting.
  • Utilize project controls systems and tools to maintain accurate project data and ensure compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable project standards.
  • Identify operational and reporting issues, perform root-cause analysis, and support corrective actions to minimize project risk, cost exposure, schedule impacts, and disruption.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project controls, project coordination, cost engineering, scheduling, or a related construction discipline.
  • Experience supporting industrial, life sciences, mechanical, electrical, or other complex construction projects preferred.
  • Experience with project scheduling, forecasting, cost tracking, labor reporting, change management, and project performance reporting required.
  • Experience using Primavera P6, Vist by Viewpoint, or similar project controls, scheduling, ERP, or cost management systems preferred.
  • Experience working collaboratively with Project Management, Accounting, and Procurement, Operations, subcontractors, and field leadership required.
