UDRย is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Project Controls Specialistย opportunity inย Glen Allen, VA.
Description
  • The Senior Project Controls Specialist leads project controls processes and consults with the project management team to ensure client satisfaction.ย  Presents schedule and budget status reports to project management team and client. Validate proper set-up and management of the Enterprise Planning & Controls software.
  • Analyze data, logs, and reports in the Enterprise Planning & Controls software or other tools.
  • Validate proper Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is utilized.
  • Develop effective scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flow reports and forecasts for multiple projects.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the reporting data warehouse to produce valuable program controls reports and data for multiple large projects.
  • Provide leadership and training to team members ensuring the resolution of difficult project control issues.
  • Develop and implement project execution plans.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with existing and potential clients, customers, and contractors.
  • Responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling, logistics and cost control.
  • Serve as a point of contact for technical questions from the project team.
  • Validate the accuracy of cost management and forecast reporting.
  • Interface with the Project Management Team and Accounting Department to review project costs and contingency costs and support external audits.
  • Experience in negotiation of prime agreements, construction contracts/subcontracts agreements.
  • Review upstream (prime contract) / downstream (purchase orders & subcontract) change orders.
  • Analyze cash flow reports.
  • Lead the Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM).
  • Lead the presentation of Project Controls reporting.
  • Validate schedule progress.
  • Analyze and evaluate schedule management involving the critical path method of scheduling techniques, estimating, project cost management, forecasting and document control.
  • Perform schedule what-if scenarios.
  • Validate the accuracy of earned value management system reporting.
  • Analyze progress measurement.
  • Analyze progress curves.
  • Perform and review material takeoffs.
  • Identify and oversee the Risk Management process.
  • Perform quality checks and inspections on project controls deliverables.
  • Perform field audits to validate accuracy of reporting and processes.
  • Perform Project Forensic Analysis. Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field. and 7 years direct project controls experience. Required or
ย Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.ย ย ย  Requiredย  Experience with critical path scheduling, project cost management, estimating and document control required.ย 
Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.
Ability to facilitate and produce detailed construction schedules and interface those construction schedules with engineering and procurement activities preferred.ย
