Description

This position will support various projects and project managers in a project control capacity. The role is an integral position of the PMO Team and is responsible for detailed project estimating, planning, analyzing, and reporting.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Prepare Land Service proposals as a part of the proposal preparation process.
  • Assist Proposal Manager with expediting department leads on required proposal activities.
  • Maintain a filing system for project set up, tracking, analyzing, and reporting needs.
  • Create and update project-specific:
    • Estimates
    • Plans
    • Schedules
    • Prepare project performance reports and reviews.
  • Undertake variance, QA, and QC activities for project-specific set up, time and expense entry, invoice preparation, revenue, and margin accuracy, close out, and completion.
  • Coach project managers to follow plans and schedules, and to interpret performance reports.
  • Identify and analyze project and project control operational deficiencies, develop, and implement solutions and ensure project teams are compliant with relevant proceduresPerformance reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • A degree in engineering, finance or project management preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ project execution experience as a project manager and/or as a project control specialist
  • Experience in land-services projects preferred
  • Considerable experience and expertise with the Microsoft suite of applications, including MS Project, SharePoint, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Power BI
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of financial project controls
  • Experience with Deltek VantagePoint preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of Earned Value
  • Strong understanding of project economics, finance, management, and administration
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Empathetic and collaborative team-working behavior
  • Strong data and trend analysis capability
  • Ability to prioritize work
  • Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal direction or supervision
  • Work expeditiously, and under time constraints
