Position Overview:
The Project Control Specialist will be part of the Project Management team for the Jenbacher Engine business, supporting extended scope projects executed by the U.S. entity. This role provides critical back-office and system support to project managers to ensure accurate project setup, cost tracking, and execution within ERP systems. The position plays a key role in translating project scope into system processes, supporting cross-functional coordination, and ensuring data accuracy throughout the project lifecycle from order intake through delivery.
This position will be based in Houston, TX - hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide structured project controls and system support to project managers for extended scope projects executed by the U.S. entity, ensuring alignment between project scope, timelines, and system execution
  • Support project managers in establishing and maintaining project schedules, milestones, and key deliverables, ensuring alignment between project plans and system execution
  • Assist in tracking project progress against baseline plans, identifying variances, and flagging potential risks or delays for timely resolution
  • Ensure timely and accurate implementation of project changes and cost planning measures in the ERP system, maintaining alignment with project schedules and financial targets
  • Support cost tracking and financial visibility by maintaining accurate project cost data and assisting with budget versus actual analysis and forecasting
  • Translate the extended scope of supply into ERP system requirements, supporting end-to-end process execution from request creation through order placement and material receipt
  • Maintain and monitor project data integrity within ERP systems, ensuring accurate documentation, reporting, tracking, and visibility into project status, cost, and material flow
  • Support tracking of material readiness and alignment with project timelines, working closely with supply chain and fulfillment teams to identify and address potential gaps impacting execution
  • Serve as a key coordination point between project management and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project requirements, priorities, and deliverables
  • Proactively identify gaps or inconsistencies in project data, workflows, or system inputs and support resolution in collaboration with project managers and cross-functional teams
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in business, IT, or a related field preferred
  • Demonstrated experience supporting project execution, project controls, data analysis, or PMO-related activities
  • Experience in project-based environments within energy, power generation, industrial equipment, manufacturing, or engineering-related industries preferred
  • Experience working in global, matrixed organizations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams)
  • ERP experience, Oracle preferred
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as business demands
  • Valid driver's license and valid passport
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of project management processes, including cost tracking, change management, and execution support
  • Strong data management and analytical skills, with the ability to maintain accuracy within ERP systems and data-driven environments
  • Ability to translate technical and commercial project scope into structured system data and workflows
