MOTER is modernizing the insurance industry by equipping insurers with real-time vehicle insights to enhance underwriting, streamline claims, and improve risk assessment. These offerings leverage the full suite of MOTER’s connected vehicle data solutions—including next-generation telematics and claims visualization tools—bridging the gap between automakers and insurers, accelerating innovation, and delivering measurable value across the mobility ecosystem.


JOB OVERVIEW

The IT Systems Manager will own and improve MOTER's internal IT systems, Microsoft 365 tenant, and helpdesk workflows. This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for managing IT projects while also executing systems administration, automation, vendor onboarding, SaaS integrations, and security enhancements across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Purview, Freshservice, ADP, Atlassian/Bitbucket, and other business systems.


The IT Systems Manager translates business and security requirements into practical systems work, coordinate MSPs and vendors, and partner closely with Engineering on AWS/cloud security, architecture, and related infrastructure considerations. The IT Systems Manager reports to the IT Systems Director.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Own the administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Intune, Defender, Purview, licensing, roles, groups, and permissions.
  • Plan and manage IT and security projects from requirements through implementation, documentation, change management, user communications, and post-launch support.
  • Perform hands-on technical work for identity, endpoint, email, collaboration, SaaS access, and helpdesk escalations while maintaining secure, repeatable operating procedures.
  • Manage and improve user lifecycle workflows across ADP, Microsoft 365, Freshservice, Atlassian/Bitbucket, AWS, and other SaaS platforms, including onboarding, offboarding, access reviews, and least-privilege controls.
  • Build and maintain automation using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, APIs, Freshservice workflows, and related tools to reduce manual administration, improve reporting, increase, and strengthen controls.
  • Evaluate, onboard, integrate, and administer new SaaS applications and vendors, including SSO, SCIM or provisioning workflows, security review support, access models, documentation, and operational handoff.
  • Partner with Engineering and leadership on cloud security and architecture topics, including AWS identity and access management, logging, secure configuration, and cross-platform access governance.
  • Coordinate MSPs, software vendors, and service providers, including project delivery, escalations, service quality, documentation requirements, and issue resolution.
  • Strengthen IT and tenant security through practical controls including MFA, conditional access, endpoint compliance, email security, data loss prevention (DLP), data governance, audit logging, alert monitoring, and incident response readiness.
  • Maintain and improve Freshservice workflows, ticket categories, service catalog items, knowledge base content, helpdesk metrics, and escalation paths.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in IT systems administration, IT operations, information systems, or security-focused infrastructure support.
  • 2+ years of experience managing IT, security, SaaS, or infrastructure projects with cross-functional stakeholders, timelines, risks, communications, and measurable outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 services such as Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Intune, Microsoft Defender, and Purview.
  • Strong working knowledge of identity and access management, SSO, MFA, conditional access, SCIM or automated provisioning, role-based access, endpoint compliance, email security, and audit logging.
  • Experience developing or maintaining practical automation using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, APIs, scripting, workflow builders, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with Freshservice or comparable ITSM platforms, including service catalog design, workflow automation, ticket routing, SLA visibility, and knowledge base maintenance.
  • Experience onboarding and managing SaaS vendors, MSPs, software renewals, integrations, access models, implementation plans, and operational documentation.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud architecture and cloud security concepts such as IAM, logging, network segmentation, secure configuration, vulnerability management, and least-privilege design, strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Atlassian administration, Bitbucket access governance, ADP or HRIS-driven lifecycle workflows, and security review processes preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as both a project lead and hands-on technical owner in a small, fast-moving IT environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) required.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs in a dynamic, results-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, vendors, MSPs, and internal stakeholders.
  • High work ethic, self-motivation, and initiative. 
  • Good judgment, high integrity, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.


OFFICE LOCATON
  • Torrance, CA (Tuesdays and Thursdays in office)

COMPENSATION
  • For California based hires, the annual salary range is $132,000 - $146,000/year depending on experience.
  • This is an exempt position.
