Lifescape is seeking a dedicated, organized, and relationship-focused Volunteer Programs Manager to lead and expand our volunteer engagement efforts. This position plays an important role in building community partnerships, recruiting and retaining volunteers, supporting Lifescape's programs and services, and ensuring a meaningful volunteer experience. Position SummaryUnder the direct supervision of the Fund Development/Marketing Director, the Volunteer Programs Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day management and coordination of Lifescape's volunteer programs, including the AmeriCorps Seniors Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).The primary focus of this position is to build strategic community relationships, conduct outreach activities, and recruit, engage, and retain volunteers. The Volunteer Programs Manager oversees volunteer efforts throughout the organization, including volunteers supporting Lifescape's fundraising events, AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP placements, special projects, programs, and services.This position also provides direct supervision to assigned staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, managing, and evaluating staff; assigning and directing work; providing coaching and feedback; addressing performance concerns; and resolving staff or program-related issues.The Volunteer Programs Manager is also responsible for program monitoring, quality assurance, compliance, outreach, networking, marketing, and other duties essential to effective program operations. Minimum Qualifications & RequirementsBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.Minimum of three years of supervisory or management experience.Valid Illinois driver's license, satisfactory driving record, reliable personal transportation, and current automobile insurance coverage.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity, inclusion, and respectful service to individuals from diverse backgrounds.Demonstrated professional judgment, reliability, integrity, and commitment to ethical practices.Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and appropriately safeguard sensitive information at all times.Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
