Join BGC Okanagan as a Temporary Family Programs Manager!

The Family Programs Manager provides leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operations of multiple family and community-based programs. This role is responsible for program planning and delivery, staff supervision and development, budget management, community engagement, and the effective administration of program resources. The Manager ensures programs operate in alignment with organizational policies, funding requirements, regulatory standards, and strategic priorities. Working collaboratively with staff, community partners, and senior leadership, the Family Programs Manager fosters a positive team culture, promotes high-quality service delivery, and supports responsive, inclusive programming that meets the evolving needs of children, youth, and families.


This position requires travel throughout the Okanagan region, including travel between BGC Okanagan Club locations in Armstrong, Kelowna, Penticton, and Oliver.

This is a temporary 12-month position to provide maternity leave coverage from August 2026 through August 2027.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for multiple family programs, ensuring high-quality, safe, and responsive services for children, youth, and families.
  • Ensures Agency Policies and Procedures, Program Operating Standards, 4 Core Programming Areas, WCB standards, CARF, Risk Management requirements and general safety standards are always met and followed by all staff.
  • Lead and support program staff through coaching, performance management, professional development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and local agencies to enhance and expand services.
  • Involved in writing grants and funding proposals to support program delivery
  • Support program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation to ensure programs meet community needs and align with organizational goals.
  • Monitor program quality, compliance, risk management, and operational standards, ensuring adherence to agency policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to organizational leadership, strategic planning, and continuous improvement as a member of the Operational Leadership Team.
  • Oversee assigned program budgets, monitor revenues and expenses, and support financial sustainability through effective resource management.
  • Promote family engagement and community awareness through effective communication, collaboration, and outreach initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in a related human service, social services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience working collaboratively with community agencies and local governments to support children, youth, and families.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of family support programs, counselling practices, and psychological principles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team-building, and collaborative working skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
  • Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation is considered an asset.
  • Successful completion of all agency screening requirements, including a Criminal Record Check.
  • Class 5 driver's licence and reliable vehicle

Hours: 35 hours per week: Monday to Friday, may include occasional evenings and weekends

Rate of Pay: $65,081.00 per annum
