Job description
- Supervise and lead day-to-day operations for Culinary Medicine, Exercise/Wellness programming, and Shared Medical Appointments, ensuring programming is culturally responsive and accessible, reducing barriers to participation.
- Translate strategic vision into actionable and scalable operating plans, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and clinical and/or operational workflows.
- Monitor program performance and proactively identify barriers, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to increase impact, efficiency, and participant experience.
- Track and report program metrics using data to drive continuous improvement across program portfolio.
- Support evaluation activities such as surveys, focus groups, and feedback loops; incorporate participant and staff feedback into continuous improvement activities.
- Collaborate with clinicians, care teams, and educators/fitness advisors to plan, implement, and scale Shared Medical Appointments for various chronic conditions and/or life stages and ensure clinical workflow integration.
- Support ongoing training, coaching, and performance feedback for program team members.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external partners in support of program growth.
- Represent Waco Family Medicine at community events and partner meetings/workgroups/coalitions as needed.
- Support budget monitoring for assigned programs, including routine purchasing and vendor coordination.
- Track supply needs (e.g., culinary supplies, educational materials, exercise equipment) and maintain inventories to prevent disruptions to program delivery.
- Assist with grant/program deliverables as applicable (e.g., narrative updates, outputs/outcomes reporting).
- Evening and/or weekend hours may be required to support program goals.
OTHER DUTIES:
- Assist with administrative tasks and program errands as needed
- Serve on internal or external committees and participate in planning

Program Manager, Non-Medical Drivers of Health (NMDoH) Programs
REPORTS TO: Director, Non-Medical Drivers of Health (NMDoH) Programs
EDUCATION & EXPRIENCE: Master's degree in public health, Social Work, Business Operations/Administration, Health Administration, or related field; bachelor's degree in related fields will be reviewed. Equivalent experience may be substituted for education and experience requirements. Three to five years of experience in healthcare, nonprofit, public health, community-based services, and/or health equity-focused work.
SKILLS: Excellent operational and time management, with a proven ability to manage multiple concurrent programs, track detailed workflows, collaborate with stakeholders, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement system improvements. Demonstrated experience in project and program management, including project coordination, timeline development, deliverable tracking, and performance measurement. High attention to detail with a systems-oriented mindset and commitment to operational consistency. Commitment to serving historically underserved populations.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Program Manager, NMDoH is a program leader in Waco Family Medicine's Health Impact Division. The Program Manager is responsible for the daily operations, performance and growth of the following programs:
- Food is Medicine Education (Kelley Teaching Kitchen): Provides hands-on nutrition education and culinary skills training to healthy lifestyle behaviors and enhance patient engagement with primary care.
- Wellness Center (Exercise Rx): Provides evidence-based and personalized physical activity programs to improve health outcomes, support the prevention and management of chronic conditions, and enhance engagement with primary care.
- Lifestyle Medicine Shared Medical Appointments: Group medical visits that combine individual clinical care, hands-on patient education and culinary/exercise skill-building, and peer support for patients with similar health conditions.
Under the leadership of the Director, the Program Manager applies organization and divisional vision to create clear workflows and measurable outcomes. The Program Manager is responsible for continued program growth and reach, ensuring programs are effective, equitable, and responsive to community needs.
This is a grant-funded position with funding secured through June 30, 2027. The position may be extended based on continued funding and employee performance.
