Shift: 4
Shift Details: Weeknights (1700-2100) and assorted weekend shifts (0800-1630 and 1430-2300), Two holidays per year, Every other weekend
Job Summary:
Following established policies and procedures, Pharmacy Intern 2 performs technical, distributive, and administrative duties. This individual may receive, sort, compound, process and prepare medication orders under the supervision of a pharmacist. They may prepare sterile products and will assist in the training of Pharmacy Intern 1. As the intern progresses, and demonstrates an increase in ability, the preceptor will grant increased responsibility. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital pharmacy internship program is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Accepted into a doctor of pharmacy program at a degree granting institution.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
Must complete a competency checklist within three months of completing orientation and training sessions.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Ability to communicate effectively with other health care professionals and patients. Ability to prioritize responsibilities in order to optimize patient care and minimize adverse outcomes.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23 must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until 3/31/24 to obtain registration.
