A career as an Associate or Associate Director, Business Integrator on the New Products and Activities team at National Bank of Canada Capital Markets means acting as a key driver of new product implementation and strategic initiatives with a direct impact on business growth by ensuring new products and activities are integrated in a controlled, scalable, and efficient manner. In this role, you will lead the assessment and integration of new OTC products, activities and business initiatives of varying complexity. You will independently manage straightforward to moderately complex initiatives and contribute to larger or more strategic mandates under the guidance of senior team members. Success in this role requires strong stakeholder coordination, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to identify issues, risks, and dependencies early in the process.

Your Job

  • Lead end-to-end impact assessments and integration of new OTC products, business activities, and material changes across Capital Markets, including contributing to the definition of end-to-end operational and regulatory requirements, risks, controls, and mitigation strategies within a robust governance framework
  • Develop a deep understanding of proposed products, transaction structures, and business objectives, and act as a challenge function by questioning assumptions and ensuring completeness of requirements
  • Coordinate and align end-to-end stakeholders across Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and other control functions to ensure delivery of requirements across all domains
  • Identify dependencies, gaps, and risks, and drive timely resolution throughout the initiative lifecycle, including escalation to senior stakeholders and governance forums when required
  • Ensure end-to-end processes, controls, roles, accountabilities, and implementation documentation are clearly defined, structured, and continuously maintained
  • Contribute to prioritization, sequencing of initiatives, and development of target architectures and implementation strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Support delivery teams in solution design, drive cross-functional synergies, and contribute to overall team performance through knowledge sharing and problem-solving on complex initiatives

Our team consists of around 45 highly experienced, talented, and dedicated individuals and stands out for its strong collaboration, agility, and deep understanding of capital markets activities and operating models.

You will work closely with trading, risk management, and functional experts across the organization, gaining end-to-end exposure to products, processes, and business strategies. We foster a dynamic environment where learning, innovation, and knowledge sharing are encouraged.

Our training approach is based on hands-on experience and exposure to complex initiatives. You will benefit from continuous learning opportunities, access to subject matter experts, and the chance to develop a broad perspective on capital markets. Career growth opportunities include expanding into leadership roles or deepening expertise across asset classes, products, and transformation initiatives.

Basic Requirements

  • Strong understanding of OTC products and transaction structures across asset classes and business units (Rates, Credit, FX, Equities, Commodities, Structured Products)
  • In-depth knowledge of full trade lifecycle including trade capture, confirmation, settlement, collateral, valuation, and reporting
  • Knowledge of OTC trading platforms, books of record (such as Murex), market infrastructure, or regulatory frameworks is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience coordinating and delivering cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, with the ability to independently manage smaller initiatives and contribute to more complex programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify operational issues, assess impacts, and drive resolution through effective stakeholder engagement and escalation.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

For the Toronto location only, proficiency in English is required. French is considered an asset, but it is not mandatory.
