Description

The Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position that will report to the Director of Auxiliary Programs. This position will assist with overall operation and management of Landon Summer as well as Extended Day programs, facility usage, and other alternative revenue sources for Landon School. The Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs will also assume the role of Assistant Director of Landon Summer. The candidate will ensure that all programs provide a safe and enriching environment for participants and are consistent with the school's mission, vision, and values. The candidate will be detail oriented, creative, motivated, positive and flexible; exhibit integrity and discretion; and work collaboratively with colleagues. 


Essential Responsibilities 

Program Leadership & Development 

  • Support the Director of Auxiliary Programs in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all auxiliary and summer programs that align with the school's mission and support revenue growth 
  • Serve as the on-site administrator in the absence of the Director. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and grow programs 
  • Gather and analyze feedback from participants, families, and staff program quality and experience. 
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to remain current on industry best practices, safety standards, and emerging trends. 

Operations & Program Management 

  • Coordinate the planning, development, and execution of summer and auxiliary programs 
  • Assist with scheduling, logistics, and program planning 
  • Manage program logistics, facilities usage, equipment needs, and operational support. 
  • Work closely with various divisions, vendors, and instructors to ensure smooth program delivery. 
  • Support Director of Auxiliary Programs with website, social media campaigns and other marketing and promotion needs with consultation from the Communications Office.
  • Help coordinate academic facility rentals including planning, set up, and on-site logistics 
  • Ensure clear and timely communication across all programs 

Staff Leadership & Human Resources 

  • Supervise the Auxiliary Programs Manager and support day-to-day program operations. 
  • Assist with the supervision of administrative personnel, including program directors, office staff, and health staff. 
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise seasonal and year-round staff. 
  • Assist in ensuring that all necessary employment requirements, including background checks and required documentation, are completed and maintained. 

Financial Management 

  • Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and program planning 
  • Support the management of vendor contracts, pricing, billing, and expense tracking. 
  • Monitor program revenues and expenses to help achieve financial goals and operational sustainability. 

Auxiliary Programs and Revenue Operations including but not limited to: 

  • Landon Summer 
  • LEAP Enrichment Programming 
  • Before & After Care 
  • Facility rentals (Academic Buildings) 
  • Adult Workshops 

Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline
  • Experience in summer programs, auxiliary programs, or related youth programming strongly preferred 
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 2+ years in a supervisory role
  • Strong organizational and communication skills 
  • Proficiency in Excel, database systems, and other technological tools
  • Experience working with budgets and financial tracking
