Social Media Strategist, B&H Creators
Job Overview
B&H Creators is seeking a highly strategic, data-driven Social Media Strategist to lead the planning, programming, and performance of our social media ecosystem. This is a senior role for someone who understands how to build audiences, develop long-term content strategies, and translate analytics into measurable business growth.
The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist, storyteller, analyst, and producer. They understand how different platforms work, know how to develop programming that keeps audiences engaged, and can use metrics to continually optimize performance. They are passionate about the creator economy, emerging platforms, and building communities through meaningful content.
This person will play a key role in shaping the voice and growth of B&H Creators across social media, newsletters, podcasts, events, and educational programming.

Essential Responsibilities

Own the social media strategy across all B&H Creators platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Threads, X, and emerging channels.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive content calendar that aligns with events, podcasts, creator partnerships, sponsorships, educational programming, and marketing initiatives.
Build recurring content franchises and programming that drive audience growth, engagement, and retention.
Analyze platform performance, audience behavior, and content trends to make informed programming decisions.
Create monthly and quarterly reports that translate analytics into actionable recommendations and measurable business insights.
Establish KPIs, benchmarks, and success metrics across all social platforms.
Develop platform-specific content strategies that maximize reach, engagement, and community growth.
Write, manage, and optimize the B&H Creators newsletter, with a focus on audience growth, engagement, and click-through performance.
Oversee publishing schedules and ensure consistency in voice, quality, and brand standards.
Develop social media playbooks and best practices for content optimization.
Monitor community conversations and identify opportunities for engagement.
Support live event coverage and real-time social media content during creator events and activations.
Present performance updates, strategic recommendations, and campaign recaps to leadership.
Stay on top of platform updates, algorithm changes, industry trends, and emerging social media best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience managing social media strategy for a brand, publisher, media company, agency, or creator-focused organization.
Proven experience growing large social audiences through strategic programming, editorial planning, and content development.
Deep understanding of platform algorithms, audience development, and content optimization.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
Experience creating executive-level reporting and presenting campaign performance.
Extensive experience with YouTube Analytics, Instagram Insights, TikTok Analytics, and other native reporting platforms.
Strong editorial judgment and excellent instincts for audience-first content.
Exceptional project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously.
Experience developing content calendars and long-term programming strategies.
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
Experience writing high-performing newsletters or email marketing campaigns.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the creator economy, digital media, photography, filmmaking, or technology industries.
Strong knowledge of professional photography, filmmaking, livestreaming, and creator gear sold by B&H.
Experience supporting live events, conferences, trade shows, or creator activations.
Experience working with creators, influencers, or brand ambassadors.
Experience managing podcasts or long-form video programming.
Knowledge of SEO, YouTube optimization, and content discoverability.
Experience using social media scheduling, publishing, and analytics platforms such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Later, Buffer, or similar tools.
Basic photography, videography, and Adobe Creative Cloud experience is a plus.
Additional Requirements
This is a full-time, in-office position based at B&H Photo. Team members are expected to work on-site five days per week.
Ability to travel throughout the year to support creator events, activations, and industry conferences.
Valid driver’s license is required.
Passion for social media, digital storytelling, community building, and the creator economy.
