Job Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems Programmer & Manager for an exciting contract to hire scenario. The Senior Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems Programmer & Manager advances Destination priorities, such as Academic Achievement, by leveraging Oracle Cloud HCM to deliver high-fidelity data and integrated systems. Through strategic roadmapping and team leadership, this role ensures the district's infrastructure directly supports student success and operational excellence. This position requires a leader who values technical mentorship, data accuracy, and the continuous improvement of enterprise architecture to ensure every student can shape a successful future.
The Senior ERP Systems Programmer & Manager serves as the strategic lead for the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the district's Oracle Cloud HCM environment, ensuring high-fidelity system integration. Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Services, the role manages a specialized team of support analysts and engineers while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex technical defects. This position is within the Application Services department and requires a deep technical understanding of relational databases and project management methodologies to align ERP functionality with student achievement deliverables. Ultimately, this role is essential because the successful execution of a long-term ERP roadmap is the primary driver of maintaining data integrity and operational reliability, which are necessary to achieve the district's strategic objectives.
DUTIES:
  • Strategic Planning & Project Leadership 40%
  • Establish long-term strategic ERP roadmaps to achieve district objectives and strategic plan goals.
  • Direct senior staff and leadership teams in ERP feasibility studies, evaluations, and large-scale project coordination.
  • Utilize established project management methodologies to oversee the evaluation, design, and implementation of district applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure ERP deliverables align with student outcomes and achievement goals.
  • Enterprise Systems Administration & Analysis 25%
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for District leadership teams and ERP user groups regarding system functionality.
  • Analyze requirements to test, debug, and implement advanced functionality and integrations within ERP software.
  • Monitor system activity to identify opportunities for operational improvement and implement approved production changes or customizations.
  • Evaluate ERP patches and upgrades to provide deployment recommendations and schedules to leadership.
  • Team Supervision & Operational Collaboration 20%
  • Supervise Oracle support staff by assigning daily responsibilities and conducting formal performance evaluations.
  • Mentor junior staff in project management practices and technical body of knowledge tools.
  • Liaise between the district and external technology partners to facilitate the timely resolution of software programming defects.
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance Analysts to align ERP support services with district technology initiatives.
  • Application Development & Quality Assurance 10%
  • Design, develop, and deploy customized reports and data integrations in partnership with third-party vendors.
  • Execute final quality assurance reviews of ERP-specific internal documentation created by departmental staff.
  • Assist in the design, development, planning, and maintenance of the district's Enterprise Architecture Plan.
  • Troubleshoot advanced application issues to develop functional solutions for identified software defects.

Personnel Management: assign daily responsibilities and conduct performance evaluations. Professional Development: support staff growth and mentor junior personnel in project management practices.
BUDGET AND RESOURCE RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for providing input into the development, administration, and/or monitoring of assigned budget(s): Create long-term strategic ERP roadmaps to achieve district strategic objectives. Plan, develop, and implement IT projects utilizing established project management methodologies. Direct senior staff and leadership teams in new ERP evaluations and feasibility studies. Coordinate with third-party vendors and partners to resolve software defects and develop custom data integrations. Supervise Oracle support staff and contractors while aligning
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, management information systems, engineering, mathematics, or a related field is required.
  • 5+ of experience in Oracle applications support within a complex information systems environment with progressive experience in application support, application management, software implementation, or information technology, along with formal project management training.
  • Ability to promote and follow district policies and building and department procedures.
  • Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
  • Maintain superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to listen attentively and convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate advanced analytical, multi-tasking, organizational, and time management capabilities.
  • Exercise tact and diplomacy when collaborating with customers and colleagues.
  • Manage multiple, concurrent, and conflicting priorities and deadlines under pressure.
  • Possess advanced knowledge and professional experience with Oracle, SQL, dBase, and other relational database management systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with integrated district applications, including student information, financial, and HR/Payroll systems.
  • Acquire and maintain the required advanced application certifications for the role.

  • Education, training, experience, skills, knowledge, licenses, certifications, endorsements, designations, and other qualifications relevant to the position that are strongly preferred but not required at hire.
  • Master's degree in computer science, business, management information systems, engineering, mathematics, or a related field of study.
