Job description

The MetroHealth Department of Surgery is seeking a full-time, academic faculty member at the Associate Professor or Professor level to join the Department of Surgery as the Director of the Division of Urology. As the Division Director, and in collaboration with the Department Chair, the candidate will lead the team in programmatic development, strategic growth and expansion, faculty recruitment, and mentoring and development of current faculty The Division of Urology provides a comprehensive spectrum of urological care, including reconstructive urology, men's health, oncology, and endourology. Our new Director will be responsible for developing and leading a multidisciplinary program of clinical excellence, commitment to medical student and resident education, and serving as a key leader for our integrated urology residency training program.

The qualified applicant must hold an MD or DO degree and be board certified in Urology. Active interest and participation in clinical or translation research is strongly encouraged but not required. The successful candidate will have an appointment to the medical faculty of the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Final rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidates qualifications and experience.

The MetroHealth System was founded in 1837 to serve the residents of Cleveland, Ohio and Cuyahoga County.  It is a non-profit, mission-driven institution with 3 hospitals, more than 20 health centers, and 40 additional sites across the county, and is the key public hospital teaching site for Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.  MetroHealth is a nationally recognized academic and tertiary referral medical center, with an American College of Surgeons-verified Level I adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma center, as well as busy advanced robotic and endoscopic surgery practices,  

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be a Board-certified Urologist with a track record of leadership, clinical excellence in the field of Urology, and a strong commitment to education and teaching. MetroHealth and Case Western value the academic mission. As such, this should be demonstrated through activities including involvement in research, a history of scholarly activity, and active participation in national specialty organizations. Candidates should also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
