Job description

Principal Function of the Position:
Responsible for providing product and program support for inside sales personnel, Territory Managers, branch operations, dealer networks and other related sales entities. This individual will also be required to provide technical documentation, analysis and assistance for internal support functions such as marketing, advertising, design engineering, quality assurance, tooling, prototyping and manufacturing. This position requires traveling up to 10-20 weeks per year performing in field customer and dealer product support, product training programs for outside sales, branch operations and dealer networks, assisting in the preparation, setup, manning and dismantling of product trade show materials throughout the United States and Canada.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide hands on technical product support for all Unverferth Product lines.
  • Provide telephone support for product service and technical issues facing customers, dealers, and sales personnel.
  • Provide recommendations for product enhancements to various product lines.
  • Perform product testing and validation for both internal and in field applications.
  • Support new product development through all phases of development.
  • Provide Trade Show support for all Unverferth product lines including:
  • Preparation of equipment displays and demonstrations.
  • Prepare trade show product information and technical documentation.
  • Prepare and coordinate work schedules for trade show.
  • Assist with dismantling and cleanup of show area.
  • Process "Warranty Claims" and with the direct input and assistance of territory managers.
  • Perform external product service calls with territory managers as required.
  • Review and update knowledge of existing and new product offerings for that area.
  • Involvement with development and preparation of technical bulletins and product manuals.
  • Involvement in and support of all product improvement programs and product information to external customers, inside sales and Territory Managers.
  • Perform various product training schools / programs for all Unverferth product lines for: internal sales and support personnel, Territory Managers and Branch operation personnel, and external customers and dealer network locations.
  • Perform periodic product and market analysis and assessments in support of marketing personnel, new product market penetration and usage, and analysis of product availability, both internal and external.
  • Provide special project support as required by members of senior management.

Physical Demands:
  • Travel up to 10-20 weeks per year.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach as needed.
  • Lift, carry, push or pull trade show and product materials.
  • Work in office, shop, trade show, customer/dealer, and outdoor settings.

Pre- Requisitions:
  • Bachelor's degree in Ag-Engineering, Ag-Systems Technology, Agri-Business or other related discipline. Candidates with an Associates' degree and 2-3 years of applicable work experience can supplement their skills and experience in lieu of the bachelor's degree.
  • Three to Five (3-5) years technical / product support in a related business market and/or business, preferred.
  • Familiarity and/or hands-on experience with agricultural equipment and farming operations.
  • Familiarity and/or hands-on experience with hydraulic systems and electrical systems.
  • Prior experience and/or familiarity in internal / external product support function.
  • Prior experience and/or familiarity in dealing with external customers, dealers and/or vendors.
  • Prior experience and/or familiarity with performing face-to-face training programs / presentations.
  • Possess proficient written, verbal and telephone communications skills.
  • Possess proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point.
  • Has CDL or willingness to obtain.
