Job Description

AECOM Mississauga is seeking an Program Manager to act as the primary support to the Delivery Leadership Team and day-to-day support and Project Management for cross cutting initiatives on a major rail program.

This role provides day-to-day program leadership support under the direction of the Deputy Delivery Partner Lead, providing support in execution of special projects across several workstreams including Org Change, Governance, Business Support and the Target Price Management Team . The Program Manager enables the Senior Program Manager and the Program Delivery Director to focus on strategic leadership by supporting management of high performing team and key Program deliverables.  

This is a newly created role designed for a driven professional with project or program management experience who is eager to take on broader leadership responsibilities, supported by senior guidance.

Role Focus & Positioning

  • Operates under the direction of the Deputy Delivery Partner Lead
  • Acts as the central coordination and integration point across delivery partner workstreams
  • Supports senior leadership decision-making; but does not hold ultimate program accountability
  • Provides a development pathway toward more senior Program Manager roles.

Responsibilities

Program Execution & Leadership Support

  • Support the Senior Program Manager in structuring, sequencing, and advancing priority delivery processes.
  • Coordinate day-to-day program execution activities to ensure alignment with agreed objectives, schedules, and delivery priorities.
  • Track progress toward major commercial and delivery milestones, escalating risks, issues, and dependencies as required.

Commercial & Target Price Support

  • Support the coordination and consolidation of inputs required to progress toward the Target Price Agreement, under senior commercial and program leadership.
  • Assist in preparing materials, schedules, and readiness activities related to commercial milestones.
  • Develop exposure to commercial management processes, with mentorship and oversight from senior leaders.

Integration & Cross-Workstream Coordination

  • Act as a coordination lead to support alignment across Delivery Partner workstreams.
  • Help maintain shared understanding of priorities, interfaces, dependencies, and upcoming decisions.
  • Support integrated reporting, synthesis of information, and preparation of briefings for senior leadership and governance forums.

Change Enablement & Organizational Support

  • Support the rollout and adoption of new governance and organizational processes under the direction of the Governance and Org Change leads.
  • Support engagement with Metrolinx, Infrastructure Ontario, and Delivery Partner leadership by ensuring consistency, preparedness, and follow-through on agreed actions.

Continuous Improvement & Capability Development

  • Contribute to lessons learned, program management tools, and ways of working across ASP cycles.
  • Build program management, commercial, and governance capability over time through hands-on exposure and mentorship.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives led by the Program Manager or Delivery Director.


 

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or Business Administration.
    • 8+ years of experience in project management, program coordination, or advisory support roles within complex environments.
    • One of the following is preferred but not mandatory:
      • PMP
      • PEng / Registered Architect
      • MBA

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Strong ability to analyze, synthesize, and communicate complex project information.
    • Experience supporting senior leaders or governance forums in large or complex programs.
    • Familiarity with major infrastructure project delivery models and project controls systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across technical, commercial, and stakeholder-facing teams.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Comfortable working under direction while taking initiative within a defined scope.
    • Experience in transportation or major infrastructure programs is an asset, but not required.
    • Motivated to grow into broader program leadership responsibilities over time.
