Personal Support Assistant
Pay Range: $21.50.00 โ€“ $29.00 per hour (based on experience)

About the Role:

Job Summary: Provides transportation and supportive services to Sisters in Long-term Care, Assisted Living, and Independent Living. Duties include transporting Sisters to appointments, shopping, and errands; providing assistance during outings; and performing basic vehicle maintenance. Responsibilities

  • Safely transport Sisters to appointments, shopping, and errands.

  • Accompany Sisters during appointments and assist with check-in if needed.

  • Complete shopping and pick-up/delivery tasks.

  • Perform basic vehicle checks (fuel, fluids) and report issues.

  • Report any incidents or accidents immediately.

  • Follow all safety procedures and attend required trainings.

  • Communicate respectfully with Sisters, staff, families, and visitors.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid California driverโ€™s license with no moving violations.

  • Two years of related experience (driving, caregiving, or support services).

  • Flexible availability, including some weekends.

  • Basic computer skills and strong time-management ability.

  • Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

  • Experience working with elders.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to understand the Sisters of Mercy mission and culture.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift/push/pull up to 30 lbs.

  • Push wheelchairs up to 180 lbs on level surfaces / 150 lbs on inclines.

  • Assist Sisters with walking or using walkers.
