How You Will Make An Impact

Program Managers at Aptima lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and control of multiple projects within a multi-project portfolio designed to achieve specific organizational objectives. This role owns scheduling, staffing, risk management, subcontractor and consultant coordination, and financial performance across programs.


You will develop and maintain strong customer relationships that are central to Aptima’s success. You will partner closely with technical leads to translate program vision into executable plans and ensure successful delivery of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) capabilities for the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.


In this role, you will work onsite with technical teams, customers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure programs are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.


Key Responsibilities

Plan

  • Identify staffing needs and coordinate hiring with leadership and support organizations
  • Develop and maintain integrated program plans to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
  • Define program scope, milestones, objectives, and resource requirements in alignment with customer and contractual needs
  • Establish roles, responsibilities, and performance-based metrics for cost, schedule, quality, and risk
  • Identify subcontractor needs and develop associated work plans and contractual documentation

Execute

  • Coordinate daily execution with portfolio managers, technical leads, customers, and subcontractors
  • Execute and adapt program plans using Agile or hybrid management approaches
  • Manage schedule, performance, deliverables, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Resolve program issues and conflicts in partnership with leadership
  • Ensure deliverables meet contractual, technical, and quality requirements

Monitor and Control

  • Track program performance using cost, schedule, risk, and quality metrics
  • Provide regular status updates and communicate program health to stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with Government regulations, contracts, and internal Aptima processes
  • Engage Contracts and leadership as needed to maintain compliance and mitigate risk
  • Identify process improvements and support implementation through governance channels

Develop Business

  • Engage customers through thought leadership to support growth of existing and future programs
  • Maintain awareness of new opportunities and support pipeline development
  • Support development of SOWs, PWSs, ROMs, subcontractor SOWs, and proposal inputs
Requirements:

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Masters’ Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or related field plus a minimum of three years of progressive experience in managing large and complex projects or programs (5M+ per year).
  • Experience and education may be substituted by outstanding history of achievement.
  • Current (min) Secret security clearance, with an active TS, TS/SCI, and/or SAP desired.

Desired Education & Experience:

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
  • Program management within the Modeling and Simulation domain
  • Program management within the Air Force
