Tangram Flex is seeking a Program Manager with a minimum of 5 years of experience in program management execution particularly with government and/or the Department of Defense. This position is located in Dayton, Ohio with hybrid options available.

POSITION DESCRIPTION /
Tangram Program Managers (PMs) own and execute the Tangram Program Execution process, including cost (budget), schedule, and performance. This role requires an individual who proactively designs solutions to program challenges, takes complete ownership of deliverables, and anticipates or adapts to changing circumstances to optimize overall results.
Tangram Program Managers function with a high degree of autonomy. They manage their own project budgets, negotiate routine technical modifications with the client, are able to navigate moderately complex problems (with occasional guidance), and anticipate/adapt to changing circumstances to optimize overall results. They build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients and are deeply involved in follow-on or other organic growth efforts.
The Tangram environment is fast-paced with overlapping priorities and requires Program Managers to be highly flexible, able to juggle multiple tasks at once, and be customer-facing. PM's maintain a focus on, and ensure:
  • Successful execution of the program based on contractual commitments (technical delivery on schedule, on budget);
  • Successful execution of milestones and deliverables;
  • Successful facilitation and coordination of program and team efforts;
  • Successful communication of resource (people, security, software, etc.) requirements of the program to Engineering and Operations leadership; and
  • Regular communication of Program Performance to Tangram leadership (and other stakeholders, as needed).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES /
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Holds ultimate responsibility for the program's Scope, Schedule, Budget
  • Serves as the primary programmatic point of contact for external customer: Serve as an internal advocate for customer and program needs;
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients, actively leveraging those relationships to drive follow-on or organic contract growth.
  • Oversees all aspects of contract financials, ensuring ceiling, funding, and expenditure amounts are accurate, understood, and tracked.
  • Manage the lifecycle of all Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs); Coordinate internal quality assurance reviews; track due dates, and ensure timely, compliant submissions to the customer
  • May act as capture manager for related growth opportunities; review and provide content to ongoing proposals; participate in regular capture meetings
  • Communicates effectively within the team and applicable stakeholders; actively contributes to team meetings; reviews and contributes to peers work products
  • Understands the nuances of various contract types and related contracting concepts
  • Analyzes program scope and requirements for program risk, IP concerns, and security needs;
  • Ensures planned milestones and deliverables are reasonable and achievable; analyzes the impact or potential impact of missed or inadequate deliverable
  • Communicates a clear definition of contractual obligations and timelines to entire organization;
  • Tracks milestone/deliverable achievement and informs finance when deliverable has been accepted and to prepare the invoice;
  • Reviews/approves invoices (both prime and sub) prior to submission or payment;
  • Monitor, update, and communicate estimated resourcing plan while understanding and managing customer expectations;
  • Ensures projects are set up correctly and proper tools are in place prior to the start of a project;
  • Document action items, assign owners, and aggressively track items to closure
  • Proactively designs solutions for problems or program challenges
  • Shows desire for continuous learning and improvement; Supports resource and workload capacity model planning and inputs.
  • Takes ownership of tasks and independently delivers quality work

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE /
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Business, Management, or a related field of study.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing, supporting, or leading programs in a Federal Government or Department of Defense environment
  • Possess a current/or recent U.S. Government Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate effectively
  • Understanding of Government and Industry program/project management tasks and execution methods
  • Ability to manage multiple complex, multidisciplinary tasks and projects
  • Experience working directly with Customers to capture, understand, and meet requirements, build relationships, and enhance company revenue and product goals
  • Excellent time and resource management skills
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Project) or related (Google Suite) products.
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to lead and/or support co-workers to success
  • Excellent writing, reviewing, and editing skills
  • Demonstrated competency in written and oral communication.
  • Travel required 10% -15%

Preferred:
  • Existing U.S. Government Security Clearance

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to travel by air, car, or other transportation methods.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (up to 8 hours/day).
  • Ability to lift and carry lightweight items (e.g., laptops, demo equipment, marketing materials) up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, using a mouse, writing, and handling equipment.
  • Visual acuity to read detailed technical documents, view computer screens, and operate software systems.
  • Auditory ability to participate in meetings, customer demos, and conference calls, including in potentially noisy environments (e.g., trade shows or military facilities).
  • Mobility to move between office spaces, customer sites, conference venues, and manufacturing or lab environments.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying work environments (e.g., corporate offices, government buildings, industrial or lab spaces).
