Job description

Registered Nurse (RN)

PsyPhyCare, a division of Business Staffing of America, Inc., is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide on-site medical and wellness services within a federally supported residential youth program in Oneonta, New York.

Our client operates a comprehensive residential program serving young adults, ages 16–24. The program's mission is to prepare participants for meaningful employment and independent living.

This role provides direct clinical services to students and collaborates closely with residential and program staff in a structured, community-based environment.

Position Overview

This is a contract position with full-time availability, up to 40 hours per week.

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday
  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • No weekends required
  • Location: On-site in Oneonta, NY (no telehealth or remote option)

The Registered Nurse will support the Health & Wellness program through direct patient care, prevention initiatives, health education, and coordination with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary staff.

Key Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will provide on-site nursing services within the scope of practice under the applicable state nurse practice act and facility Wellness Guidelines.

Responsibilities include:

  • Triaging urgent and emergent medical situations
  • Providing first aid, clinical assessments, and basic treatment
  • Monitoring students with chronic health conditions
  • Administering medications and assisting with examinations
  • Coordinating referrals and follow-up care with healthcare providers
  • Maintaining accurate and timely medical documentation and records
  • Tracking laboratory results, immunizations, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Delivering individual and group health education sessions
  • Maintaining medical and prescription supply inventories
  • Providing staff training on health and wellness topics
  • Collaborating with community healthcare partners and program leadership
  • Supporting a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment
  • Mentoring students through professional role modeling and participation in program initiatives as assigned
Qualifications

Licensure:

  • Candidates must hold a current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in a clinical, school-based, residential, or community health setting required.
  • Experience working with adolescents or young adults preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.

Education:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
