Job description

Overview

The Project Manager, Strategic Initiatives & Analytics will support enterprise-level projects that drive Sprouts Farmers Market’s long-term growth, operational efficiency, and data-informed decision making. This role partners cross-functionally with business leaders across the organization to plan, execute, and deliver initiatives that align with strategic priorities. They oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle to ensure objectives are met on time, within budget and with high quality results.

Position reports into the Store Support Office in Phoenix, AZ. Hybrid schedule in office Tuesday - Thursday.

Overview of Responsibilities
  • Support and collaborate with cross functional team to develop and maintain a project plan to achieve goals through the management, planning and execution of enterprise and departmental initiatives focused on growing the company’s impact to communities, to employees, and to investors.
  • Responsible for supporting development and documentation of key project artifacts to include Charter, Requirements, Test plans.
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable project plans, milestones, timelines, and deliverables and communicate project progress to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate stakeholder alignment, ensuring clear communication across executive sponsors, department leads, and technical teams.
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to scope, track, and communicate data insights that inform project decisions and business cases.
  • Produce project financial reporting (Capital and OpEx) with variance explanations and support timely reviews with the project teams.
  • Develop executive-level presentations and draft and distribute project progress updates summarizing project health, risks, and outcomes in preparation for Steering Committee and other governance cadence.
  • Identify, track and mitigate potential risks, issues, resource constraints and recommend and deploy mitigation strategies and blockers that could impact project success.
  • Track project performance using appropriate systems and tools in accordance with PMO standards to ensure projects meet quality, schedule and budget expectations.
  • Support, recommend, and implement continuous improvement opportunities to drive efficiency and improve quality, and annual strategic planning and project intake processes, ensuring prioritization aligns with business goals.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, analytics, or related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, strategic planning, or analytics within a retail, consumer goods, or corporate environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in data-driven decision making; familiarity with financial or operational metrics a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to translate complex topics into clear updates for senior leadership.
  • Proficient with project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana, or MS Project) and data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI).
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with BI/visualization tools (Power BI strongly preferred; Tableau or similar acceptable).
  • High level of competency in MS PowerPoint and general presentation/communication strategies
  • Proficiency with Excel; experience with Python or R for analytics and modeling is a plus and supports effective partnership with business for modeling purposes.
