Job Description SummaryThe Materials and Logistics Quality Leader will provide strategic and technical leadership to drive Zero Defect Culture and Proactive Quality across the warehousing and materials network. The person in this role will lead the quality organization for our internal logistics and warehouses as well as partner with leadership to drive continuous improvement and problem-solving advancement. This role will manage critical quality KPIs to the business and coach and drive towards KPI improvement action plans.Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Operational

  • Assure performance to Key Performance Indicators in delivered and process quality.
  • Quality leadership defines and leads the implementation of the quality org, processes, DM, and visualization to align to our Aerospace quality management system.
  • Drive adherence to quality deliverables associated with product line and customer requirements.
  • Maintain strong regulatory compliance across the logistics network including regulatory and customer audit.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems that impact the function. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.

Strategic

  • Owner of Zero-Defect Culture and Proactive Quality for logistics operations.
  • Collaborate with logistics leadership including reaching in to key leaders at the manufacturing and supplier sites on top-level improvement priorities.
  • Champion the Lean Transformation in logistics quality operations, providing subject matter expertise on methods and tools such as problem-solving.

Organizational

  • Lead a local and remote/decentralized team of quality professionals across our materials warehouses.
  • Partner with Materials plant leaders and with the cross-functional shop and supplier quality teams to drive priorities and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with horizontal teams in programs, design engineering, shop operations, product support engineering, customer teams, and extended quality organization.
  • Coach/mentor team on an ongoing basis.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of quality, engineering, manufacturing, or related experience
  • Ability to travel 25-30%
