Job description

Senior Project Manager
Category: Project Management
Main location: United States, Texas, Austin
Position ID:J0426-0906
Employment Type: Full Time
Position Description:
Senior Project Manager
At CGI, we deliver more than technology consulting. We deliver outcomes that matter.
Across industries and sectors, we help clients solve complex business problems through technology. Our teams lead implementations ranging from Salesforce and custom application development to CGI IP-based SaaS solutions and other enterprise initiatives. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager / Program Manager / Project Delivery Director to lead large, complex implementations and programs with discipline, structure, sound judgment, and accountability.
This role is for someone who sees project management as a profession to be mastered, approaches it as a discipline to be refined and practiced at a high level, and takes pride in delivering complex work exceptionally well. The right candidate brings strong project management instincts, a bias for ownership, and the ability to lead teams and clients successfully through challenging, high-visibility engagements.
This individual will be leaned on to manage some of our larger and more complex projects and programs, often across different technologies, clients, and delivery environments.
This role is aligned to CGI's Austin Metro leadership team and primarily supports client work in the Austin metro area, with the potential to support clients in other parts of Texas and beyond based on business needs. Assignments may require onsite work and travel.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Lead complex technology implementations and programs from initiation through closure, with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, issues, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment.
. Serve as the primary delivery lead for major client engagements, typically managing one significant program at a time.
. Lead projects across a range of solution types, including Salesforce, custom application development, SaaS solutions, and other enterprise technology initiatives.
. Apply strong delivery discipline across hybrid, agile, and waterfall environments, tailoring the approach to fit the engagement.
. Build and maintain strong working relationships with client stakeholders, including project managers, sponsors, and executive steering committees.
. Proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies, with the judgment to identify what requires immediate action and apply urgency where it matters most.
. Manage project financials, delivery reporting, governance, and overall engagement health.
. Maintain control of scope and contractual alignment, including SOWs, SLAs, assumptions, and change management.
. Lead day-to-day execution across cross-functional teams, including CGI team members, subcontractors, and third-party vendors.
. Communicate clearly and actively with clients, project teams, internal leadership, and external partners to maintain alignment and delivery confidence.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. 10+ years of project and/or program management experience leading client-facing technology implementations in a consulting or professional services environment.
. Proven success leading at least two large, complex technology implementations with project or program value of $10M or more, including high-visibility engagements with meaningful delivery risk and executive oversight.
. Ability to lead across a variety of technologies and project types, not just a single platform or solution area.
. Strong command of core project management disciplines, including planning, governance, financial management, risk management, issue management, change control, and stakeholder communication.
. Experience managing delivery in alignment with contractual scope, terms, and service expectations.
. Experience leading matrixed teams and coordinating across clients, internal teams, subcontractors, and third-party vendors.
. Strong judgment, executive presence, attention to detail, and a disciplined, structured approach to delivery.
. Demonstrated experience managing projects within a highly regulated industry (such as financial services, banking, or insurance). Familiarity with FDCPA, CFPB, TCPA, and/or GLBA is a plus.
. Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
. PMP certification preferred.
. Willingness to travel and work onsite as client assignments require.
What we are looking for
The strongest candidates for this role are serious project management professionals. They bring structure, discipline, and consistency to delivery. They know how to manage expectations, navigate difficult situations, and maintain client trust while protecting scope and delivery outcomes. They also bring a strong sense of urgency-paired with the judgment to know what matters most in a given moment and when to act quickly.
