GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Under limited direction, the Program Manager for the High School Health Academy Programs will be responsible for the planning, implementation and oversight of the academy programs and courses for Kirkwood Community College's K-12 Partnerships Department in collaboration with the Kirkwood Health Department. The Program Manager will be responsible for program development, implementation, instructor recruitment and budgetary oversight. The Program Manager will be responsible for maintaining all institutional, local, state and national compliance and certifications and maintain the Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing training center coordination.
This position will work regular office hours Monday through Friday with occasional evening commitments.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administer and oversee the Health Academy Programs and related courses at program sites in Kirkwood's seven county region.
  • Lead the performance and compliance of Kirkwood Community College's Nurse Aide program and assure compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations regarding Nurse Aide.
  • Coordinate and prepare reports pertinent to the program.
  • Recruit, hire, train and evaluate instructors for the High School Health Academy programs in Kirkwood's seven county service area.
  • Support instructors with issues of student compliance and program requirements.
  • Coordinate and assist in the development of new courses and revisions of existing courses within the program.
  • Assist instructors in preparation, delivery and troubleshooting of High School Health Academy courses.
  • Establish and maintain relationships and communication with participating high schools and clinical agencies.
  • Coordinate program and curriculum with instructors.
  • Provide budgetary oversight of program functions.
  • Counsel current and prospective students on appropriate educational needs.
  • Effectively organize, prepare and evaluate course work in accordance with established and/or developed syllabi.
  • Coordinate the process of requesting and maintaining instructional equipment, facilities and supplies for instructional use.
  • Participate in state-wide programming activities.
  • Participate in related program advisory committee and communications with the career field.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • RN license required.
  • Two years' clinical experience in nursing with one year of long-term care experience.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • CPR for the Healthcare Professional Instructor (or ability to obtain within six months of employment)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
  • BSN with teaching experience.
