Job description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Branch Manager is responsible for leading an efficient and customer-focused branch operation, providing a world class customer experience through active sales leadership, proactive and effective fleet management and a safety focused culture. Facilitates and leads branch sales and rental operations, to include managing the financial business plan, overseeing all talent development, training, safety, operational excellence, presentation and facility maintenance. Builds an engaged, efficient, and customer focused team that safely delivers high quality production.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Lead by example to ensure a culture of safety permeates throughout the company and safety programs, policies and directives are adhered to consistently
  2. Maintain daily engagement in the oversight and leadership of Branch Sales, Service and Delivery teams in alignment with the Company’s mission to deliver a consistent quality product to internal and external customers
  3. Actively lead and oversee sales efforts, ensuring Sales Representatives utilize tools provided, effectively cover their assigned market areas and build strong and lasting customer relationships. Regularly devote time in the field, interacting with Sales Representatives and customers.
  4. Achieve financial objectives by driving the performance of financial operational plans and budgets
  5. Continuously assess talent at all levels within the branch and provide specific ongoing coaching, training and feedback
  6. Recruit, interview and take ownership of all hiring decisions to ensure top diversified talent is on-boarded into the company
  7. Promote positive employee relations including foster high team morale, upholding operational standards, and execution of the performance management process
  8. Mange payroll, productivity and staffing in region or Branch against established performance expectations and objectives
  9. Lead and facilitate team meetings to ensure effective communication and motivation at all levels of the organization
  10. Build and strengthen relationships with customers to ensure exceptional customer service
  11. Partner with Operations, Human Resources, Finance, etc. to develop and execute a sound and obtainable business plan
  12. Manage and coordinate requests received from other internal locations
  13. Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Basic Knowledge & Competencies:

  • Excellent time management skills to include prioritization of tasks, communication, execution to meet established deadlines
  • Excellent customer service, communication and multi-tasking skills
  • Outstanding leadership and people development skills
  • Strong financial acumen, including cognitive skills, problem analysis, decision making and quantitative analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to assess customer patterns and adjust labor and branch focus accordingly
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required

Previous Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years’ experience in roles with increasing responsibility
  • 2+ years’ successful experience supervising a branch or profit center with Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility
  • 2+ years’ experience leading in a multi-unit work environment
  • Analytical decision making preferred
  • Experience in revenue generation to include the ability to analyze income statements and take appropriate action

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment
  • Frequent use of hands to manipulate the keyboard, telephone, files and other equipment
  • Standing, walking, lifting, twisting and bending on a frequent basis
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
