Title: Program Manager

Classification: Exempt

Status: Full Time

Department: Program Services

Reports to: Program Director

The primary responsibility of the Program Manager is to create and perpetuate a culture of excellence, compassion and integrity in the delivery of service to our participants. Reporting to the Program Director, the Program Manager will oversee all operational aspects of multiple homes, sites or services, not only ensuring compliance to all applicable regulations and requirements, but also promoting an environment that constantly strives to elevate.

Job Duties Include:

  • Representing the Mission, Vision and Values of AMA Support Services through action and presentation
  • Creating a culture of high professional and ethical standard, where dignity, respect, inclusion, integrity and compassion are the standard
  • Overseeing all aspects of service delivery within the service and program to ensure the health, safety, welfare and personal development of those we support in all settings
  • Striving to deliver the highest level of quality in the delivery of services as outlined in the ISP
  • Create structured and nurturing home and/or service environment that responds to and meets the needs and preferences of the individual participants
  • Ensure that all authorized services are delivered as prescribed in the person’s ISP
  • Work in conjunction with others to promote and maximize community integration in an effort to build interest, develop skills, and cultivate belonging
  • Create a culture that promotes the attainment of goals and objectives, and that encourages personal growth and independence through the development of creative and innovative strategies
  • Ensure compliance to all applicable regulations and requirements
  • Oversee services and planning for each participant to ensure that individual needs are met and that services are delivered, as prescribed and in line with the Individual Support Plan and service parameters
  • Supervise and direct the day to day activities of all program employees
  • Develop and deliver training programs to increase the knowledge and required skill of the employees providing direct support to our individuals
  • Design individualized support programs to meet the needs of each person in service
  • Monitor, schedule and deliver staff trainings in line with all applicable regulations and requirements
  • Monitor all documentation related to service delivery, including all periodic reports, to ensure compliance to all applicable regulations and requirements
  • Facilitate and participate in support and service-related meetings, and contribute to the support team process by providing information, making recommendations and promoting collaboration
  • If appropriate to the service delivered, scheduling, coordinating and overseeing the delivery of all necessary health services to meet the ongoing physical health needs of each individual who requires it
  • Develop strategies to promote safety and to prevent incidents, and respond to any incidents that may occur in line with regulations and requirements
  • Build and cultivate a support network and a sense of belonging between the individuals and community members
  • Ensure all service records are thorough, complete, accurate and compliant to all requirements and regulations
  • Audit service delivery documentation to ensure that it meets billable standards and prepare billing records for submission
  • Manage individual and company funds, including making and recording transactions according to policy, procedure and regulation and operating within a budget

Required Education:

  • Master’s Degree in a related field plus one year of work with persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field plus 2 years’ experience working with people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
  • Associate degree and 4 years’ experience working with people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
  • High School Diploma and more than 5 years experience working with individuals in the specific capacity of the service and program

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience developing support plans and development objectives
  • 2 years’ experience supervising or managing employees
  • Knowledge and understanding of related industry regulations (Chapter 6400, PA 51, HIPAA, FLSA, Service Definitions, ODP Bulletins, etc.)
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal Communication skills
  • Excellent Time Management Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced in various web-based systems
  • Ability to engage with all stakeholders and constituents in a positive and productive manner

Additional Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in HCSIS/EIN system
  • First Aid/CPR Trainer Certification
  • Position specific certifications, such as Medication Administration Trainer Certification
    ACRE Certification
  • PA Certified Investigator

Working Conditions:

  • Hours and weekly schedule are dictated by current tasks and program needs. Evening and weekend hours may be required
  • Evening and Weekend On-call rotation duties in cooperation with other management staff
  • Frequent lifting, stretching and other physical exertion while assisting individuals in service
  • May be required to transport participants in own vehicle
  • Work will take place in a variety of settings, including an office, in the community and in the homes of the people in service. Must be able to travel to and work in these settings without limitation
  • Exposure to various medical conditions and communicable diseases may occur
