Stellar Solutions is searching for a Sr. Systems Engineer to provide satellite-launch vehicle integration expertise and support to meet the challenging mission of delivering space systems on operationally relevant timelines.
Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications
This successful Sr. System Engineer will provide satellite-launch vehicle integration expertise to include identifying, validating, communicating, and implementing launch requirements for satellite programs. Specifically, developing the products for contract development, early integration, launch vehicle selection, and launch operations. Responsible for supporting launch service acquisition, integration, test, readiness, and launch of complex classified multi-configuration space systems. Must understand and communicate programmatic risks and advise on navigating the challenges associated with planning, hardware transport, check-out, stand-alone testing, integration operations, and day-of-launch functions on existing and future launch vehicles. Must be experienced in the integration of classified spacecraft to launch vehicles, including design and implementation of mission-unique hardware and CONOPs development. Requires knowledge of the current and future National Security Space Launch (NSSL) contract structure and Launch Vehicle Providers.
Required Qualifications
  • BS and MS in STEM field
  • 15+ Years of relevant experience; relevant DoD/IC or relevant industry work experience with no less than five (5) total years of experience in a SAP and/or SCI environment with at least one (1) year of that total being within the past 5 years,
  • Supported Space Launch Acquisition or Operations programs and organizations
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: systems engineering, program/project management, or acquisition management
  • Experience in DoD, NRO, and other National Security space programs
  • Knowledge of industry and government practices and standards across a range of applications related to system engineering discipline, space mission operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with a high capacity to work in a team-oriented and collaborative manner
  • Must be a self-motivated individual who can work independently and in a team environment
  • Able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

Desired Qualifications
  • Professional certification such as PMP and/or Defense Acquisition University Certifications
  • Knowledge and experience with the breadth of National Security space mission partners

Clearance & Additional Requirements
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance preferred.

This position is onsite in Chantilly, VA
Compensation
The typical salary range for this position is USD $165,000 - $185,000 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, retirement plan, and other benefits, all in addition to salary.
