Implementation Manager – Protection New Business & Underwriting Ascenteum Delivery Role (in partnership with the End Client)

Location: Hybrid | Duration: Contract

Role Summary

Ascenteum is seeking an experienced Implementation Manager to support our end client’s Protection New Business and Underwriting organization. This role plays a critical part in their Platform Modernization agenda, overseeing the implementation of new systems, APIs, operational processes, and policy/procedure updates across the underwriting lifecycle.

The Implementation Manager will work within a dynamic, matrixed environment, coordinating across business, technology, operations, and vendor teams to ensure seamless end‑to‑end delivery. Underwriting platform experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage multiple concurrent implementation projects across core systems, underwriting operations, and customer‑facing processes.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for stakeholders throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Develop and manage implementation strategies, timelines, and execution plans.
Stakeholder & Cross‑Functional Coordination
  • Coordinate across underwriting, operations, technology, product, and vendor teams to ensure alignment and readiness.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, understanding interdependencies across workstreams.
  • Provide a consultative approach to guide stakeholders through rollout impacts and operational considerations.
Operational Readiness & Delivery
  • Oversee new system implementations, API integrations, and policy/procedure deployments.
  • Support testing of end‑to‑end connectivity, data flows, and usability of new deployments.
  • Ensure smooth operational transition, including training, documentation, and post‑go‑live support.
Risk, Governance & Reporting
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, providing structured updates to senior leadership.
  • Maintain strong documentation across requirements, implementation plans, status reporting, and remediation actions.
Technical & Process Expertise
  • Support code deployment readiness and coordinate with engineering teams as needed.
  • Manage onboarding and integration of data vendors and external data sources.
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes, workflows, and operational controls.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi‑workstream implementations in a matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with underwriting systems, workflows, and terminology (Life/Protection preferred).
  • Familiarity with life insurance processes, acronyms, and operational models.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex implementations and leading cross‑functional teams under pressure.
  • Proficiency with implementation management tools, methodologies, and structured delivery frameworks.
