Job Description
This position will be responsible for providing leadership, direction, support and assistance to the Hospital's nursing operations. Under the direction of the VP/CNO, the Director of Nursing is accountable for the day-to-day nursing operations at the site including; nursing strategy, ensuring quality measures are maintained to improve patient care, and patient experience at the Hospital. Develops and implements site specific patient-focused management programs, nursing practice guidelines, nursing quality indicators, innovative financial plans and evidence based practices. This position is responsible for the development of nurse managers through coaching, mentoring and evaluation. The Director of Nursing will drive programs and initiatives that improve nurse / staff retention. This position will also be responsible for overseeing the integration of the care delivery system at the site so that patient care needs are met within financial, DNV, DOH and other regulatory and evidence-based guidelines.

Education And Credentials
Current NYS Registration as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or related field required. Master's degree in Nursing/Healthcare or Business Administration or a related field required.
Experience
Five (5) years of experience in patient care delivery. Five (5) years of progressive management experience in health care, including budget/financial systems, quality improvement and knowledge of regulatory and accrediting agency standards. Has experience and expertise in leading complex teams thorough planning, managing the implementation of projects and program development.
